wwjd1947 Posted January 14, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2011 Does anyone know where we tender in Exmouth? Is it at the Navy Pier or in closer to the town center? Also, has anyone any information on a car rental for the day? Are there any car rental agencies near the tender point or any agencies that will come and pick us up at the port if we reserve in advance. Any information will be appreciated. Are there any car rental agencies near the tender point or any agencies that will come and pick us up at the port if we reserve in advance.Any information will be appreciated. We called at Exmouth on Dawn Princess Round Australia cruise. Exmouth is a very small town and a very long way from anywhere. Not sure where we tendered ashore, but it was to a fairly modern Marina and shuttle busses took us about 10 minutes into the town. After we had visited "both shops" there, and walked around the block , we headed back to the air conditioning and lunch on board the ship. We found that the ship had booked out all the tour operators for the day, and once their tours were full that was it. A bit annoyed as they were all booked out even before the cruise began. Seems you need to book a tour there as soon it opens on the website or miss out. No idea about rentals, but would imagine that if there were any , they would be fairly expensive , as they would have to bring them in for just the one day a ship calls. Little Miss Fine Posted January 14, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 14, 2011 Hi Texas, Check out http://www.exmouthwa.com.au - this website should give you all the information you are looking for. Gorgeous town. If you do have the time head out to Torquiose Bay (the hire car people will point you in the right direction) as you can snorkel the reef close to the shore. However, should you decide to head out there please ensure you take drinking water and food with you. Do enjoy :-) Cheers, Nomes
wwjd1947 Posted January 14, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted January 14, 2011 Thank you for your reply. Our intention is to go to Turquoise Bay to snorkel. We are checking into a car rental for the short time we are in port. We will definitely take water and snack food.

I suggest you buy your snack food at the supermarket in Exmouth rather than taking it from the ship. This is not permitted for quarantine reasons.:):) You probably already know this, but I am mentioning it just in case. :) In Turquoise Bay you can do a drift snorkel by entering the water at the southern end of the beach and letting the current carry you towards the north. Leave the water, walk along the beach, and do it all over again.
