No Ships in Port in San Diego this summer?

My godson is getting his Masters in Organic Chemisty in May. As a gift we wanted to do a cruise out of San Diego, well looking first at "find a bargin" and then even checking the offical port schedules we find NO ships sailing from there from May through the summer.

What's up with that?

This will be the second year of there being no ships sailing out of San Diego during the summer. The Elation was the only ship sailing year round out of San Diego, but carnival cut that program during April of last year.

So there are no cruise lines that leave out of San Diego during the summer.

I also noticed no Holland America ships either, I know some go to Alaska.

So much for the new port being used it just opened on Dec. 18th.

Well, guess it means a drive to Las Angeles, or Long Beach.

Yep. There are no ships that leave out of San Diego.

Your only option during the summer is Long Beach. Carnival is the only cruise line doing cruises out of LA/Long Beach during summers now.

So you can do a 7 day cruise on the Splendor, or a 3 or 4 day cruise on the Paradise
