We said in 9 days!!Majesty--a few questions

Recommended Posts

****That should say SAIL-seems we can't edit the title?

This will be my 2nd cruise with RC and we are excited. We got married on Enchatnment in 2004 and we are now doing a short 4 day on Majesty!

Questions:

What is a C and A coupon booklet? We have our cards registed with our reservation, but since last time was our first time I don't know what to expect!

Buckets of beer, coolers of beer?? We really enjoyed the buckets that we had on NCL. WE had a few left we'd put them in our cabin, keep them on ice and could have one before dinner. Does RCCL does anything like this?

Can someone please lie to me and tell me the cabins aren't THAT small? This is our 4th cruise overall and have had balconys in all of them. We decided to try a window only and this week I've been a tad nervous. Maybe I should just buy an extra bottle of wine and I won't even care! (how does one add a smiley here) ??

Anything specific for the Majesty I need to know.........?

THANKS

The cabins are incredibly tiny unless you in a suite or deck 9 oceanview. However, you generally don't end up spending a lot of time in there with all port days. :)

There are buckets of beer, though make sure you get them from a place that allows glass bottles (or get beer in aluminum) ... I saw someone once buy near the pool and ended up with a bucket of plastic cups.

The coupon book will be in your cabin when you board. There will be lots of coupons for free or discounted things on the ship. BOGO drinks, discounts on spa services, discounts on bingo etc.

RCI sells bucket s of beer. You can bring them back to your cabin.

Most people will tell you the cabins are tiny. I think they are plenty big enough. You can't hold a barn dance in there but who goes on a cruise to host a barn dance?:D We use our cabin to change our clothes and to sleep, that's about it. To put our experience into perspective, we once had our family of 4 in a 122 sf cabin on Sovereign. We made due with what we had.

This can not be stressed enough! Go to the Compass Deli for lunch. They have some of the best food on the ship and there is hardly anyone ever there. It's behind Sorrento's and above the Windjammer.

THANKS

Enjoy your cruise!

Don't get too excited about the coupon books--not really that much in there of use.

Since you can only get a balcony on the Majesty with a JS or above, they're relatively expensive, and its itinerary doesn't really need a balcony anyway. No big deal there.

As for the room size, the regular OVs and insides are barely big enough to change your mind, and many of the windows on the lower deck staterooms are small and awkward to see out of--but you'll probably spend most of your time on the pool deck or onshore anyway, so no big deal.

No matter what, you will have a great time on this ship.

We just got off the Majesty on Monday. It was a great trip and the ship was wonderful. Definitely go to the Deli... the food was soooo good! The staff on board was so friendly and definitely went above and beyond. I did see people walking around with buckets of beer but I'm not sure how much they were.

As for the cabins, they are small but still comfortable. We did an inside on this cruise because you just couldn't beat the price! Honestly though it wasn't bad at all. We weren't in the cabin much but when we were we definitely didn't feel cramped.

Any other questions, feel free to ask!! :) You will have a wonderful time!

I also got off the Majesty last Monday. I have been on the Monarch 2x and now the Majesty. They are nearly identical. I have had inside rooms on the Monarch and I opted for an Oceanview on Deck 5 on the Majesty. The rooms are the smallest of "modern" cruise ships. No room for a small couch or chair at the end of the bed. The room was fine for myself (I sailed alone this time), but with two it feels a little cramped (from my experience on the Monarch). Just no where to sit, but on your bed or the small desk chair. The ship was nice for its age though! I was pleasantly surprised. It is in a bit better condition than the Monarch and it has the Compass Deli and Johnny Rockets. Both were pretty good. A Johnny Rockets is a Johnny Rockets... Same experience I had while on the Mariner of the Seas last October. Have fun, you'll enjoy it. Oh, as for the cruise booklets, yeah, they are pretty much useless. Except for a free pull at the Casino or a buy one get one beer/wine coupon. I'm Platinum and it isn't much better than the Gold book.
