I just spoke to Verizon regarding my Motorola Droid X2 while flying into Canada and cruising to Alaska from vancouver. They just said to uncheck Data Roaming (which has always been unchecked) , put Data enabled off.. AND I can even go into Mobile Networks and check Home Only instead of automatic.

 

This way I can send and receive texts and/or calls but no data.

DOES THIS SOUND RIGHT TO ANYONE WITH VERIZON? I think I will also disable bluetooth, wi-fi, and GPS. I will use our netbook to check on emails with my Elite minutes.
