Port Everglades Car Rental

We disembark at Port Everglades and our flight at FLL is not until 8pm. We would like to rent a car for the day, but I am getting confused after reading so many posts! What car rental places have shuttles at the port to their off-site location? Thanks!

Just about all major car rental companies have shuttles that will take you to the Car Rental Terminal at Ft. Lauderdale Airport. All the companies are located in the same building at FLL.

Hertz runs its own shuttle van and National, Avis, etc. use the same large bus. They all run their shuttles pretty much constantly during the embarcation/disembarkation time frame from all the port terminals so you do not even need to call when you leave the ship. You can usually be at the airport rental terminal within 15 of getting on the shuttle.

Call and ask if they have a shuttle.

Try Avis. They recently opened a new location in the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 right outside the port. They will shuttle you there from your ship.

 

Just this past December , we disembarked using self assist, took their shuttle, rented the car for the day and returned it at the airport before our 7 pm flight home.

We're using National Car for a post cruise drive-trip.They suggested we use the Free (common) RENTAL CAR CENTER BUS from the port to the airport's car rental center. On arrival (2nd level) - follow signage for various car companies. Of course - there's always the taxi option. SeaFish

We are having the same situation, although not leaving until 6:00pm. I'm open for suggestions - we have a party of 7 - including two 80's in our group.

Last time this occurred disembarking from Miami, flying out of FLL, we just took a leisurely drive up A1A and stopped at the FL beach area for lunch.

 

More time to kill this time - how is the Sawgrass Mall everyone refers to? Not sure that would interest all but it beats sitting at the airport.

Is there a place at the pier to drop off a Hertz rental car before a cruise or do you have to turn it back in at the airport? If so, does Hertz have a shuttle to take you to the port after you drop off the car?

No, Budget does not participate. A cab between the port and the airport will run you approximately $15.00 or so.

Crowne Plaza Hotel at the port entrance has a Hertz desk and I believe Hertz has shuttles to/from port. You may want to call and check with the location.
