shadowmeboy Posted March 1, 2016 #29 Share Posted March 1, 2016 I liked the Star when the lounge was deck 12 forward, and found the spinnaker to be dull when we sailed and the lounge had moved to deck 7 aft. The star lost some of the allure and positives when NCL made that change. I understand it was made for greater revenue and profit. Also, with the star leaving Alaska sailings, the spinnaker looses some of the best assets, the view.
don't-use-real-name Posted March 1, 2016 #30 Share Posted March 1, 2016 We are in 12012, so you are either next to us, or across from us on the other side of the ship. So excited there's another PH person on the meet and greet!See you at the meet and greet, Junogirl We are in 12510 !! Aboard the Baltic's Cruise in May :D In Oct 2014 did the Panama Canal had suite 12012 - WOW was that an experience. Only noted deficiency was the clouded over floor to ceiling windows the aft two. The balcony was nice had a partial glass overhead enclosure to keep the rain and weather from blowing into the cabin. Really had to watch it if the cabin door to the passage way was open and opening the balcony door caused everything not weighted down to fly all over the place - what a draft. All the suites on deck 12 forward have the double vanity sinks in the bathroom. Separate shower and tub - the storage closets in the foyer between the cabin and the bathroom do pose a small problem in that they are in that traffic pattern. Because of the large balcony there was no dining table and chairs only a small knee high coffee table. Strange ugly furniture but it was NOT bought at IKEA. 12012 is a nice cabin for two - for four not so good but better than the SJ class suite next door accommodating 6 really taxing the bathroom facility ! Cabins 12510 and 12512 are port side & 12010 and 12012 starboard the only balcony suites class SG the rest of the cabins (20) were SJ Family suites in the bow were the DOS (4) class SA For pictures and more details go to the right corner top of this page and in the SEARCH block put STAR 12012.
