Whats your favorite CCL drink? Need some help...

RDP, how does that work?

The casino match play coupons are only for the "classic cocktails", which are Long Island Ice Tea, Ultimate Margarita, Mojito, The Cruiser, Mai Tai, and Sex on the Beach. You will present your receipts from these drinks to the casino cashier, who will give you one match play coupon for each drink. Note that on some ships, the cashier will keep your receipts (they have on all ours), but I have seen some people report back that they will write on it or stamp it and give it back to you.

At the table, you put down your wager and the match play coupon under it. For example, at a $5 blackjack table, you would put down $5 plus your match play coupon. Now it is a $10 wager, but you are only risking $5 of your money. If you win, you win $10 ($15 if you get blackjack). If you lose, you only lose your $5. Win or lose, the dealer will take your card after the hand. I am not sure what they do with the coupon on a pushed hand. I would assume they would let you play it again.

I see it as a win/win for both Carnival and myself. I win by "reducing" the cost of my drink with the match play coupon. I am paying $10 for the drink, but Carnival is giving me $5 for the casino. Carnival wins by getting me in their casino to play.

Twilight Zone - It's one of those layered drinks that has a Pina Colada base and Blue Caracao. When it's layered it's really pretty. If you like the Miami Vice you should like this.

Whiskey Sours - those are usually good at the Past Guest party.

Last cruise I wanted my favorite "dirty banana" was told by at least 3 bartenders they can only make the drinks that are listed on the menu.

One told me about the Choc Mocha madness== quite good.

can any one confirm that you can order whatever you want?

Funship Special! It will be the drink of the day on the day you board. Don't drink more than 2 or 3. They sneak up on ya! :)

YUP!! I still remember our honeymoon on the Conquest in June, 2005. Hubby had to go back to the cabin and lay down. He claimed it was the movement of the ship...but we had just left and were only heading down the Mississippi...nice try! lol!! They certainly did sneak up on him...:p..we still laugh about it and when we booked our cruise on the Liberty a few weeks ago, that was my first question to him "SO...are you going to go easy on the Funship Special this time?"

I would drink whatever the DOD was that day. Then a fabulous lady introduced me to the "Miami Vice" drinks while we were waiting to get in the comedy club. OH MY GOOOOOODNESS!

I'm counting down to lots of those plus Mojitos & now this Twilight Zone drink mentioned. YUMMMMMM! :D :D :D

For me, a Funship special is an absolute requirement on boarding a "Funship", and i will then enjoy it along with some lunch, and then have another one or two at sailaway! I have also discovered on my most recent Carnival cruise, that the "Goombay Smash" is very good, as well as the Mexican Mama, ( similar to Bahama Mama, I think, but with Tequila instead of rum ). Also after hearing so much about Long Island ICe tea from other cruisers on this board, I had to try one last September, and all I can say...is....1 only for me, or have one, then order another and take it back to the room for a "nightcap" ( knocks me out ). As for my favorite regular drink, gin and tonic, Carnival does make a good one for the price. There are just soo many options, too many actually:D

Definitely try the Tiramisu Martini - it is like dessert in a glass! So yummy...the glass is drizzled on the inside with chocolate sauce and it is so smooth and tasty. I would have one at the casino bar every night before dinner.

For out by the pool - try the BBC (Bacardi Banana Colada). I could drink those all day!

They accidentally made me a banana/mango daiquiri last year on the first day, and it was a delicious mistake :) I drank those for the rest of the cruise. We dubbed it the "Cocktail Claw," because we decided my hand was going to freeze in that shape due to me constantly having one in my hand.

  • 3 weeks later...

I would love to see pics of any of these delicious sounding drinks if anyone has them to share... especially the Chocolate Mocha Getaway and Tiramisu Martini (I'm a sucker for anything chocolate)! :D I love a good Miami Vice as well, so I am adding the Twilight Zone to my list of drinks to try when I am on the Glory in May!

Long Island Iced Tea, and not the little ones...four or five of those and the alcohol poisoning sets in really nice....and you don't even remember the walk back to the cabin - and don't care whose cabin your in, even when security shows up to help you find YOUR cabin. :)

I really like the Carnival Cosmo (it is basically a cosmo with a shot of Lemoncello) and I also over do it with the vodka chocolate martini dark (always ask for vodka--I found if I don't some bartenders will make it with gin. Gin is good but much better with vodka)

Oh yeah! that Mocha Chocolate Getaway is yummy, but more a dessert drink definitely. I don't think anyone could get through more than 1, it's like a spiked chocolate shake!

The Kiss on the Lips, (one of my favs) but it's not rum, it's peach schnapps and super easy to make at home;)

One of my favorites is a DOD nobody ever mentions, and the the Ultimate Suntan! love it!

One more I'll mention as being a Carnival fav... I too can throw back quite a few of those tiny (free) whiskey sours! I don't know what brand of mix they use but it's the best I've ever had!!

I could go on, and on, and on.... but we'll stop there:rolleyes:
