Bars on Ventura

just a quick question that came to mind , will my 16yo son be allowed in all bars with us ??? hopefully he'll have met some others and will be off doing his own thing , but if he wants to have an evening with us can he access all the bars we can ??

That's good. When we took our 15 year old on Celebrity we weren't allowed anywhere after 11pm:mad:

He can go everywhere except the casino. The only bar on Ventura which is not off a corridor all passengers use is Metropolis, so excluding U18s from all bars would be impossible.

People of all ages are allowed in all bars at all times, except for the casino and the rare occasions when an adults only disco is held in Metropolis from 11:30pm. Under 18s will not be served alcohol.

When I sailed on Celebrity a few years ago the minimum age for drinking alcohol was 21. Under 21s were not allowed in bars after 11pm and this was enforced in an extremely heavy handed manner, with black suited "bouncers" descending at that hour demanding to see the cruise card of anyone who appeared to be under 25 and escorting them out if they were under 21. The disco effectively died at that time, most other passengers were already in bed.

That's one of the things we really don't like about Celebrity. It is just so dull after dinner. P&O wins hands down on that.

Just as a matter of interest, does anyone know if X (and RCI) have altered their policies with regard to their ex-Southampton sailings? I know that Princess did, and said so publicly in their online policy statement about drinking age.

RCI ex-Southampton is 18 if parents sign the authorisation form which 18-20s carry with them and may have to show.
