Rare English Tim Posted February 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2011 There are a few options for car parking at Galveston. Has anyone experienced any of the car parks? One states it's only a block away and parking for my cruise is $50, with the ability to walk to the terminal.
nlt46 Posted February 9, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 9, 2011 I think that there are at least 4 places to park your car. I've used 2: Lighthouse and Port parking. Both were fine. I'm doing Lighthouse again for $50. You might do a search of this board and get the names and web addresses of the others. Nancy
firefly333 Posted February 9, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 9, 2011 Iv done EZcruise 4 or 5 or more times, and been happy with their shuttles, though I could easily walk to the port too if I didnt want to wait and be shuttled to the port, why not take advantage of the free shuttle for you and your luggage? Easier on the wheels of my suitcase. Iv also done Discount parking, the one across from Howard Johnsons and again been pleased. I think on the one of the cruise lengths, it was $5 cheaper. Iv also parked at Howard Johnson's and used the $5 per person shuttle option with the free cruise parking at Howard Johnsons.. and used the free cruise parking at EconoLodge and paid to take a taxi. All were great, not one complaint about parking. I would not do Howard Johnsons again in the fall because there were mosquitoes in the area...and I react to their bites. panoramaofthepast Posted February 9, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 9, 2011 If you are coming in a day early, your hotel may provide free parking and/or a shuttle, so check that first. We use EZ Cruise and have been very pleased. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a shuttle, coming or going.
