Can the New RCI Ships Have A Royal Promenade?

I may be wrong, but I thought the design of the "Horizontal Atrium" (Royal Promenade) was a copyright design of the Finnish shipyards. (The only ships to have these are the ten RCI ships and two Norwegian ferries built at the same shipyard).

If the new Project Sunshine ships are being built in Germany, does this mean there will be no Royal Promenade?

As I say, I may well be wrong, but I thought I read that the design was exclusive to the shipyard.

I Don't know if it's exclusive go STX but I can't see a new royal ship without a promenade as they are so popular now and well used. I think they will defiantly have one.

I may be wrong here but don't the solstice class have two mini promenade? They were built at Meyer

You are correct. Mini Promenades on decks 4 and 5. Moderate priced stores on deck 4 and high end stores on deck 5. The deck 4 promenade lets you bypass the casino.

That is the Celebrity version of the Royal Promenade? It doesn't really do it for me.

The Promenade is a must -- we really enjoy the big promenade on the RCC ships -- it's so nice to walk around there before and after dinner, or any time really.

I agree. We also really enjoy the Royal Promenade. We really missed it when we sailed on Serenade.

It doesn't really do it for me either. I like the big promenade with all the shops and places to eat. If they don't have a promenade on board I will be shocked as it has become am icon for the brand and will make a lot of people upset not to mention there goes the prades.

Celebrity is designed to be more elegant and upscale then RCI, so the promenade is there to make it easy to get from the front to the rear of the ships and stop in the shops. No parades, no performances.

The most important fact is that there are no big obstructions in the middle of the ship so Royal could easily build a larger promenade similar to the Voyagers and Freedoms.
