maitaiguy Posted February 16, 2011 #51 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Fresh burgers right off the grill and pizza right out of the oven - but right on the pool deck like Caribbean Princess. Look guys, I liked Mariner better than Caribbean Princess but I really didn't want to go to the WJ to get a snack. Princess does this better, IMO. (And their pizza tastes WAY better than RC.):D
Illinoisgal Posted February 16, 2011 #52 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Oasis Class does have a pool deck grille that serves these things. It's called the Wipeout Cafe. Is still those nasty premade , weird shaped burgers under a heat lamp lol

Buccaneergirl Posted February 16, 2011 #54 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Bring wine on board:eek: More variety of food in the WJ because after you have sailed so many times, you pretty much know what you are going to get. Every cruise I think"I'll try the burger....it has to get better" and it never does! I agree with the fresh burger!(DH always says "Why are you getting that burger, you always say it is bad?!") For once, he is right!:eek: Yes, we would pay $$ for a bar set up in our room! We have never sailed Celebrity but have heard wonderful things. This may be the year! Recently, cruising with kids, we couldn't find one children's books--and we looked on the first day" We bring along a book and then donate it to the Library at the end of our cruise. We have left Sci-Fi, Romance, Travel, Childrens, etc books. Not sure what becomes of them (but) hopefully, someone has enjoyed them.
touring42 Posted March 3, 2011 #56 Share Posted March 3, 2011 Stop their ridiculous policy of not being allowed to bring your own booze on board! I have not had my first cruise, yet, so I can't answer the question. I thought it was strange that the Micky Mouse Cruiseline lets you bring your own liquor on board, but I guess people need it in order to put up with all of the children cruisers. Should there be no difference between cruisers who pay $250 and $850, besides the location and type of stateroom?
rharvey999 Posted March 3, 2011 #57 Share Posted March 3, 2011 Would love RCI to somehow port a ship in Kansas City, float across the Missouri to St. Louis and head down the Mississippi to the Gulf. steveandjen Posted March 4, 2011 #60 Share Posted March 4, 2011 Coin laundry !!..... for those who are on a tight budget, who don't like to wear the same sweaty thing twice, and who aren't too snooty to toss a load in on vacation, if they so choose. Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted March 4, 2011 #61 Share Posted March 4, 2011 This was a great question but what I can't understand why do americans in general go for the hot dogs, burgers, fries and pizza! YUCK! And you wonder why so many people have cholesterol and heart problems. I stay away from that type of foods its just not healthy and furthermore the quality of meat that you get in the burger, you tell me why the burger not taste like the burgers I make at home which are less than 10% fat lol Ok this hit a sensitive spot on me so I get to the OP question.... 1- I like to have better quality meats (beef) in the MDR than what they serve, I have to say honestly Carnival even had better quality steaks than RC did, go figure that lol 2- I hate the singing and dancing in the dining room, its just tacky. 3- I agree give us choices of better ports, I am so sick of Nassau boring! I have to stay on the ship, they need to add turks and caicos, other nearby islands, and most importantly I love cruise ships out islands add them more to their cruises. 4-Give us choices of alcohol packages (Carnival has it where if you purchase certain drinks on their premium menu you get $5.00 in casino chip back for every drink you purchase. 5-Add something more than the fast food provided after 11:00 pm for snacking/eating....its always pizza, hamburgers and hot dogs please add cheese, fruit other items for healthier choices. 6- Provide some snacks such as nuts, chips, etc at the bars in small individual plastic cups so that they can be thrown out and everybody has their own (for cleaniness purposes) 7-Better plusher towels are needed in bathrooms 8- the toilet paper is too thin!!! Perhaps there is a reason to this but other cruise lines have better toilet paper thicker lol 9- stop leaving those cans of soda and water in the cabins, they take up too much room on the desk! 10-Allow better prices for single people or come up with single studio rooms 11-Allow children over the age of 18 to be allowed to have a cabin that is not only opposite/next door to the adult going with the. Sometimes such as myself I want a balcony room and want to give my daughter an inside room and this prevents me at times to getting balcony room because she needs a room opposite of me or next door as I not want to pay for a single balcony for her. I feel if they are on the same deck that should be sufficient. 12- People gambline at the tables should be given free sodas at least or discounted cocktails
Pack My Bags Posted March 5, 2011 #62 Share Posted March 5, 2011 Reading through these posts I have seen some great ideas & at the same time I'm grinding my teeth. I am a diamond member & love the service, clientele & ambience RCL offers. I will continue to sail with them. Of course you cannot please everyone, there are some people out there that are not happy unless they are complaining & miserable. That would be my first suggestion. Leave those people home!!!! Here's my top 21 list & my two cents. 1. Enforce the chair hogging rule, please!! 2. Expand port selections / ports of departure. 3. Stop wasting paper! Every night there's 7 new flyers in my stateroom! 4. Expand breakfast / brunch hours. (We had brunch on the last sea day on my Feb 2011 Explorer cruise. Nice job! 5. Get rid of that horrid imitation crabcake!!!!!?!?! 6. I am not a drinker, but a drink plan sounds fair. You should also be able to bring ONE bottle on board per stateroom. They still need to make money. 7. Washing machines? I'm on vacation. Not washing squat! 8. How many of the waiters actually know the words to Hey Look Us Over? 9. More appointments / loyalty staff for future bookings along w/ discounts on back to back sailings. 10. Productions shows are getting redundant. 11. Honor some "employees if the week" during a show. This is a great morale booster for staff! 12. Bring back horse racing on the pool deck! 13. Bring a GONG to karaoke. 14. Seattle's best needs a reality check. 15. Elevator etiquette handouts. If I am waiting & you come over to push the button, don't even THINK about getting in front of me! 16. Stop the daily 4 language announcements. 17. Eliminate champagne prizes. Award wiping out set sail accounts instead! Oh yeah! 18. Get rid of that little coffee table in staterooms. My shins will thank you! 19. Give cruise staff more time to rest or pay them better. 20. Drop spa rates -- they are ridiculous!!! 21. I don't care who you are.... Just because you spend $15,000 on a royal suite doesn't mean you can act like a entitled buffoon to the hardworking staff or someone like me with over ten cruises under my belt. HONOR THE LOYALTY, not the affluent snob!!!!!! Lastly.... This one is for passengers. STOP stiffing your cruise staff! Tipping is a way of acknowledging their hard work for a job well done! jorapp Posted March 5, 2011 #65 Share Posted March 5, 2011 Our suggestions would be: - Revise the posted rules so they make sense and are uniform, then enforce them. - Train all customer service staff so we receive the same answer for the same question regardless who we ask. - Single occupancy cabins. - Don't bother replacing coffee tables in cabins as they wear out. All they do is collect junk and take up space. - Allow one bottle of alcohol and one bottle of wine per adult to be brought onboard. Charge a fee if you must. Allow alcohol purchased onboard to be taken to the cabin, not held until last night. - Expand the room service menu and allow all items to be ordered any time of the day or night. - Is the dinner menu for MDR on the TV during the day? If not, it should be. - One elevator per bank which is larger and restricted to / reserved for pax in wheelchairs/scooters and their party. That's all that comes to mind atm. Pack My Bags Posted March 5, 2011 #66 Share Posted March 5, 2011 Single occupancy cabins!! YES! How could I have forgotten that one? I'm a tour operator!!?! So many single travelers out there! There are actually some cabins on the lower forward decks of the vision class ships that offer single stacked bunk bed configurations, but they still charge double occupancy. :-( Btw jorapp --- You can order anything from rm service anytime, plus see the Daily compass & MDR menu from your stateroom TV. I like this list too! The only thing I would add is....... Assign fresh beach towels to each Stateroom....stateroom attendant replace them when used.....charge fee if towels aren't there when you leave. (Carnival does this) The current RCI system is silly and time consuming. Carnival's way is so simple and cruiser friendly.

Patty00 Posted March 5, 2011 #70 Share Posted March 5, 2011 Keep the Cabin fridges available for use, but remove all the "pay for" Goodies. I have to stay on the ship, they need to add turks and caicos, other nearby islands, and most importantly I love cruise ships out islands add them more to their cruises. They already offer a wide variety of ports if you make the effort to find them. We cruise fairly frequently and rarely, if ever, have to choose a cruise that goes to Nassau. Our most recent cruises have included Cartagena, Panama, Costa Rica, Dominica, Barbados, Curaçao, Aruba 4-Give us choices of alcohol packages (Carnival has it where if you purchase certain drinks on their premium menu you get $5.00 in casino chip back for every drink you purchase.
