sarar Posted February 24, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2011 This will be the first time I have cruised out of Southampton and not aware of how it works there. So would be grateful of some advice. When booking our taxi, I was asked what gate no. the pick-up would be at, do you find this out nearer the time or do you not have a number? I have read the other thread on here about times to check in at Southampton, so I am keyed up there I hope!
shoreham01 Posted February 24, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2011 Here is a link where you can see which gate you will be going from. http://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/cruise_ship.asp although not all the cruises are listed yet. As you can see, we are just along the coast from you.
Rare Host Sharon Posted February 24, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 24, 2011 It will be on your e-ticket when you get it. There are only 2 in use for passengers - Dock Gate 10 for Mayflower and City terminals and Dock Gate 4 for Ocean and Queen Elizabeth II terminals. Double check before ordering the taxi as occasionally you return to a different terminal from the one you left from.

We are on the Azura on 1st April, but it definately doesnt say the gate number on the E-Ticket
BrianI Posted February 25, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 25, 2011 It should say which terminal you are going to and from on your eticket. According to the port website http://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/cruise_ship.asp you are going from Ocean Terminal (berth 46) and returning to Mayflower (berth 106). You should tell your taxi which terminal, not gate as one gate serves more than one terminal. The gate is a long way from the terminal. Elaine0138 Posted February 25, 2011 #6 Share Posted February 25, 2011 Our etickets for Arcadia on the 29 March doesn't have which terminal we are going from either. I didn't think anything about it but others who are on the cruise seem to be getting into a bit of a tiz about it.
Thejuggler Posted February 25, 2011 #7 Share Posted February 25, 2011 No need to worry - there are electronic signs which tell you the ships docked in each of the terminals. Just follow these.
BrianI Posted February 25, 2011 #8 Share Posted February 25, 2011 If its not on the ticket its in the holiday information book. Its got to be there somewhere. Brian

I know it isn't a problem as we have done it before, Arcadia will be returning to a different berth on our return thisseems to be causing a problem with some of my fellow passengers and they seem to be on the phone to P&O daily no matter what some of us have told them. That is not a problem - if you have a car booked in with CPS they will move it to the correct terminal for disembarkation. It has happened to me before now. jazzbabe Posted February 25, 2011 #13 Share Posted February 25, 2011 Not to worry-the Southampton taxi drivers are so used to taking passengers to the docks. They know where your ship is and are up to date on traffic problems & delays.:)
southwinds Posted February 25, 2011 #14 Share Posted February 25, 2011 I would be surprised if a Taxi driver didnt know which terminal you were sailing from but you can check on the Southampton Docks web site... there are also electronic signs along the roads ... PLUS you see the ship from the main road.
BrianI Posted February 25, 2011 #15 Share Posted February 25, 2011 The original question was about pick up at the terminal, so unless you tell the taxi company which terminal, how would they know? Brian
Merlin7 Posted February 25, 2011 #16 Share Posted February 25, 2011 The signs on approach to the dock tell you which terminal a ship is berthing at, Simples.
