Just off the ship for the Thanksgiving cruise. Some observations...

FINALLY platinum and the embarkation was wonderful. Got there at 10:15am and went to the priority office. Yes, it was a separate office with a desk and lemon water. Given zone #1 and sat in a separate area. Then at 10:30 moved to another area. Escorted to the ship at 10:45 and were on board at 10:55. Very civilized...actually heaven.

The pasta bar is actually a separate restaurant and was great. People didn't even discover it until the third day.

The Tandoori grill, aft by the pool, was the best. Try the pineapple and tomato relish. It was great on the flat bread. Ate there every day,

The comedy lounge in the Burgandy lounge was beautiful. Get there 30 minutes before the shows, as it is standing room only. They were excellent

The Jumbotron movie screen by the main pool was quite entertaining. During the morning hours there is a guy who comes by with the bloody Mary cart. Watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade has never been this much fun!!

The Steakhouse was worth every penny. The ribeye steak was the best!! Wonderful, attentive service. We went on the first night and received a free bottle of wine.

I've been on forty cruises and never have I felt a ship rock and roll this much. Could have been because we were in the Eastern Caribbean and the time of year. It didn't bother me but bring seasick meds just in case.

The Cove balconies were awesome. We were in 2288 and never heard any noise except for the waves. The beds were...think cave balcony and the Flintstones and you will get the picture. No Carnival Dream bed here.

I was not impressed with the area called the Lanai on deck five. It had those glass partitions all around the sides and seemed very claustrophobic. The BBQ lunch was overdone burgers. The Mayo and cole slaw were not on ice and did not look appetizing. There are plenty of other places to eat.

Crimson deck four was for anytime dining and our service and the food was outstanding. We waited one night for 45 minutes but were seated right away the other nights

Did not think the ship felt crowded at all. Maybe it was the motion of the ocean

Would go again in a heartbeat. The cruise renewed my faith in carnival for delivering a great product for a Budget price

Try the new menu.....I think you will be surprised. Happy sailing!!!

Feeling nervous for the rock and rolling of the ship now, I will have to pack some motion sickness pills for sure. :)

For those of you that have been on the Eastern loop, my question is this do you have the menu's for each day of what is served for dinner??? trying to figure out what would be our best night to enjoy the steakhouse without missing our favorites in the MDR. thanks for your help.

I heard somewhere that the Dream offers complimentary alcoholic beverages on sail away at one of the bars..........can this be confirmed or denied?

Sail away, no. The farewell party, yes. They did a few weeks ago. Runs for about 1 hr., just before dinner on the last night. It was held in the Burgundy Lounge.

We will be on the Dream February 25,2012 in room 2445. Can anyone tell me about this room, or better yet have pictures of one like it? We have cruised on the Imagination and the Fantasy in outside cabins, how does this one differ?

Thank you for all the wonderful information all the members here have provided, and the pictures are such a bonus!

I am looking forward to being on a larger ship, although I am a little apprehensive about the motion of this ship that people have mentioned.

Hi

Going on the same cruise and will be in room 11244. Sorry I don't know anything about your room or mine. If anyone knows anything about these rooms let us know. I am a little apprehensive about the motion and I am up high, but will take my ginger before and during. It really does help.

Was in 10263 (just about right below you) last February, and will be in 10265 this Feb. I didn't experience any unusual rocking or extra motion due to the height or the location. I might be a little biased - the Carnival Dream is by and far my favorite Carnival, at least compared to the others I have been on. I like the large ships and the extra things Carnival has done with Dream. This one anyone compares favorably with other lines.

Thanks for the information and glad to hear you didn't experience any unusual rocking. I haven't had any problem with motion and have been on some pretty ruff sea's, but I worry about my niece who will be traveling with me. I am really looking forward to sailing the Dream.

We were in 2457 in October, which is also a deluxe ocean view room. This means that you get an extra half bath with a sink and tub and a slightly bigger room. That second bathroom is great!!

Tip: If you really want to visit Roatan, book a smaller ship. The current Dream Captain will skip that port if the wind is up at all while smaller ships pass by on their way to the dock. You've been warned.

i was on the dream feb 19 2011 , and missed rotan too

going again this year same week , hope we dont miss it again

Thank You so much for your reply, and especially for the pictures. I am really looking forward to going, although the motion of the ship that people are talking about has me a little concerned. Hopefully we will have a smooth sailing!

We were on the Dream in Feb. 2010 and did not remember much motion..But we are just off the Magic and it was pretty rough everyday except the last sea day..I am wondering if they have som kind of design flaw on this class of ships...We had a great time and there is so much to do on those ships you will have to go back...:) Dennis

Just got off the Dream on Saturday after a 7 day cruise. It was a rocky cruise, but factors such as having to speed up to bring an ill passenger to St. Thomas early definitely added to it. I'd say around 3 or 4 days were rocky on the ship, but I really only noticed it while sitting down, or in my cabin.
