All things Dream!

I will be on the Dream in April.

I am renting a car to get to the port and a shuttle from the port back to MCO.

The shuttle company wants to know what time to pick us up at the port. Our flight is at 2:20 pm. What time can I expect to get off the ship without doing self-assist debarking?

Anyone:confused: If it matters we have a cove cabin.

Just stumbled across this thread, sailing in 5 months, looking forward to reading through the posts!

My DH and I just returned from the Dream, 7 day Eastern. The ship is a beauty and there was no problem navigating it. We boarded in less than 10 minutes, had lunch and our first Pina Colada's in 15 minutes!

We never had trouble getting lounge chairs, the service was excellent all over the ship, MDR, Steak House, and the room service.

The new food venue's were very good, a nice change from the standard buffet! Never had too many people in line, maybe it's because we stayed clear of busiest times of day. Food was not real hot, but with over 4,000 people on board, it is to be expected. We were on the anytime dining time. We did have to wait for a table, but never more than 10 minutes for a table for 2!

Our cove balcony was very nice, and private, never full sun, but we had enough of that on the lido deck anyhow.

The smell that other posters had mentioned was there, but only in a hallway. It was nothing to get your panties in a bunch about.:D

The entertainment was great, the "Dancing in the Streets" show is a must see.

Casino, well what can I say......I lost my A__ __ !! real tight machines, except the day we were rained out at sea. The machines happened to loosen up a little.

I would sail the Dream again in a heart beat.

I would go ahead and book the cruise. A cruise over New Year's Eve usually sells out. I know our school system is out until January 7. The longer you wait, the less choice of cabins you will have.

I don't think the cabins on the Panorama deck have bigger balconies, but I don't know for sure.

As Cruzlover said we (wife and I) just got off the Dream yesterday (10/10/12) and loved her. About the only thing was ATD and we switched the 2nd night to late seating, solved that problem. Slots were tight! We never really waited more than 2-5 minutes anywhere, had great food from the Steakhouse, to the MDR, even the BBQ. Not sure if comments were listened to or what but all was well... OK the PGP (past guest party) was a bit of a bust (not enough servers for almost 1000 people) but that was 40 minutes of the cruise.

Go, have fun!

Pasta Bar, Mongolian Wok & Burrito Bar were my favorite lunch spots. I also loved the Deli - best Rueben sandwiches!! Soft serve chocolate & strawberry always hits the spot for dessert too.

Comedy shows are excellent, and hilarious. Be sure to arrive at least 45 minutes prior because the lounge is small for the amount of people on board so it fills up fast, plus a lot of people from the PG rated shows stick around in theirs seats waiting for the adults show.

Water park is great for children, AND adults. Definitely makes me feel like a kid again. The Drain Pipe was my favorite. Mini Golf is a great afternoon activity as well.

This ship is loaded with hot tubs, I always found the ones by Ocean Plaza to be empty however.

Speaking of Ocean Plaza, great place to sit and enjoy a drink! The bar at Ocean Plaza serves excellent martinis, and the sushi bar is right around the corner open at select hours.

BBQ on Lanai is fantastic - great quesidilas!

Cloud 9 Spa is great from what I have heard from fellow cruisers. I plan on trying it myself this time on my upcoming June cruise.

For buffets for breakfast & lunch, check out the ones in the back of Lido Deck, they are less crowded than midship, also more seating back there as well.

Want a lounge chair? Get out there early! Pools are relatively small, but nice for a quick dip to cool off!

Where in "the gathering" is the Burrito bar? Thanks, anyone?

I am wondering if after the dry dock changes in October, if the sushi bar is still there? What are the changes that were made? Thank you so much.

The sushi bar seems to have disappeared to be replaced with the tasting bar. About the same timeframe for opening but is samples from the steakhouse.

The burrito bar is open during lunch and is in the middle of the 'gathering"

i have heard ppl talk abt this secret door on dream were is it located and were does it take u to? also i know on some ships u can walk on te helicopter pad can u do this on dream if so how do u get to it? thanks

On Deck 11 you can walk all the forward thru the rooms (either side) and make a left where the corridor ends. Go thru a door and turn left, if the double doors are shut open them and go around the stairs. You will come to an elevator that takes you to the 15 floor which is the top of the serenity area. This is for the spa guests but it does not say you cannot use it. As for a "secret" door or a helo pad... not sure one exists on the dream.

It is great ship, huge with lots of people but for all that very few times did i feel "crowded". Even getting on/off at ports was a breeze, course we did not wait until the last to get on.

I don't think the Dream has a heli pad... if you watch this recent medivac video, you can see that the Coast Guard drops an EMT down to the ship, followed by a backboard  in order to get a sick/injured passenger off the ship. I imagine they would not have to do this if there was a helipad.

I am not a person to eat sushi, but my understanding is that it is still available, just not where it was. I was told that it is now up at the buffet in the evening.

I haven't been on Dream since the dry dock, but that's what I have read. I don't have a clue as to where it is on the buffet, but I think that's where it is now.

I'm sure if this is wrong, someone will let me/you know.

hi we been looking at the dream for abt a month now. still havent booked the cruise for new years but the rooms i been looking at are still available i wonder why are they in bad areas? like for instance we saw one room really near the elevator on panrama deck at the front of the ship but would it be a good or bad choice to book near an elevator

also there were rooms on lido at the front we were thinkin it would be smart to book a rm on a higher deck towards the front since our son will be at camp carnival alot in the evenings and we wouldnt have that far to go to get him since i think camp carnival is located towards the front

we are thinkin abt getting a balcony cat g

We recently are back from cruise on Dream - 17 of us went - most had Cove Balconies -- all on the port side were able to use and loved -- the CB on the starboard side were UNUSABLE the entire cruise due to sewage smell -- this is not the first we knew about it because we had read about it on this site - thought it would be fixed by now. Carnival indicated that there was nothing they could do about it. Oh! yes they did offer 15% back but that is not the difference between an inside cabin (which is basically what we got) and the coves. I know 17 cruisers who will never use Carnival or any affiliates again. Thought you should know -- if you can, change to the port side.

That would be disappointing. Shouldn't an unusable cove balcony be compared to a regular oceanview, since you would still have a window?
