I was thrown out of the Equinox casino

I wish they enforced all their rules like that....

-no chair hogging

-no shorts or muscle shirts in the dining room

-no kids in hot tubs

That employee deserves a raise.

Well, the 'muscle shirts' I've seen have nothing to do with 'muscle' and lots to do with 'bellyfat'.....oooh, that's my dining muscle!

Yes, it's true. I was thrown out of the casino on Equinox. My crime? Walking my baby in his stroller a few too many times around the slot machines.

It became a routine to walk my 18-month old son around the ship in his stroller at 7PM, hoping that he would fall asleep in time for the baby sitters who came to the cabin at 8PM. I found that the slot machines were practically hypnotic for him, so I circled the machines several times, hoping that he would doze off.

Keep in mind that there were about 4 people in the casino playing, and my son was completely quiet.

Out of nowhere, a well-dressed man with a walkie-talkie appeared, and said, "Sir, you have to leave now."

I said, "okay," and that was that.

Maybe I should have said, "Hmmph! I've been thrown out of better places!"

No hard feelings, though. I just walked him back and forth in front of the shops, which are just outside the casino, and before you know it he was out like a light!

:):):)

Uh you were breaking the rules. What they did was fine

Have you MET some of the scooter people?? They are a scary breed, and I would take a 1000 screaming babies with diaper rash over a small group of scooter people any cruise of the year!! :D

BTW...most scooter peeps are us Americans....

You must be young and obviously don't understand. One day, you or a loved one might be confined to a wheelchair or scooter, and I wonder how you'd feel hearing such a callous and uninformed statement. I've been disabled for more than 55 years because of polio, and if it weren't for my scooter, I'd be a prisoner in my home, unable to do much of anything. Believe me, I'd give anything to have two healthy legs and to be able to enjoy the freedom you have. But like I said, I wonder how you'd view scooter people if you become one someday?

Way too much cigarette smoke in there.....The ship is massive...Why did you pick the most disgusting part of ship to walk your baby???

This is just an FYI...there is no smoking in the casino on any of

Celebrity's ships. It is smoke free environment in there, not disgusting

at all.

OP, here.

Just to put your minds at ease, I am not an "X the rules" type, and I realized that night that walking around the casino with an 18-month old in a stroller must have looked pretty ridiculous and I hope the video taken by the fish-eye camera never shows up on YouTube.

The story was meant to illustrate how one desperate dad tried to get his squirmy son to go to sleep so he (the dad;)) could go to the martini bar and drink his Ketel One, straight up with olives, in peace.

And yes, I did bring DS to the martini bar--but only after he was sound asleep!!!:):):)

The same thing applies on land. When my oldest was less than 2, we accompanied my family to an Atlantic City hotel. We were told that we could walk through the hotel lobby casino (which had slots) but we could never stop with my daughter.

So one morning we were walking out to go to the beach for a walk and a stiltwalker was in the casino standing right in front of us, blocking our way. He bent down to smile at my daughter. So we stopped to interact with him. He was talking to her when all of a sudden we were surrounded by a flurry of security telling us to "keep moving, don't stop"

So yes, they are very serious when they say "No children" -- even on land.

I'm sure the OP was aware of that, thus I can't help but think his/her(?) post was nothing more than an attempt at tongue-in-cheek humor. It was, wasn't it???????

Definitely not. I would say he was heading towards the blackjack tables and his 18 month old was going to count the cards while he sat at the table.;)

Well, how dare you use our Adult Casino for a place to distract and entertain that, that how can I bring myself to use the words....'kid'...I mean, really now!

Personally, I would have taken him directly to the Martini Bar ordered two Ketle One's and the kid would have gone right to sleep after a few sips! Doubt any of our "I can't believe you brought a kid into my sight" posters would object to that, now would they?

...........This is a joke meant to offend as many as possible.........

This thread illustrates the dangers of trying to make a tongue-in-cheek humorous post. Half the readers won't perceive that you're being humorous, and before you know it the thread has gotten away from you!

So true......when someone tries to lighten things up, there is always some who just don't get it! :)

boy are you right. PartyAlDaTime said I should add smiley faces to my posts so others understood It Was A Joke! Wild. People are always looking at a reason to give someone a lecture or go into the 'its just all about you' accusations. Tiring especially since we are talking about cruising and fun stuff!

There is a difference between a person that truly needs the scooter or wheelchair, such as yourself, and a person that has grown so out of health, they can barley walk. Didn't mean to offend, but this thread is more tongue-in-cheek, and that was the intent. Notice, I didn't say 'all scooter people".

I stand by my opinion that some scooter people are just crazy.

And...I am not so young.....
