Booking Directly with RCCL?

Recommended Posts

I have been cruising with NCL for the last 4 cruises and am thinking of going with RCCL this time. One reason I had stayed with NCL is because of the excellent PA I have, to get the best deals, discounts etc..What is the best way to get a good RCCL PA? I don't want to be calling another country and get someone I can't understand...I want someone that is not new and knows what they are talking about and can answer my question! Thanks in advance..

The RCI call center you will be calling is located in Miami Florida..RCI does not outsource..Look at the RCI website and become familure with what itinerary/ship/dates you are considering. You can also do a courtesy 24 hour hold if you book online. Or call RCI reservations and speak to a reservation agent/planner. Have a deckplan in front of you and your credit card ready if and when you're ready to book, as there are no courtesy holds when booking directly..Good luck and enjoy your (2nd - noticed you have been on Mariner) cruise with RCI...:)

Thanks Ashland! Yes we did the Mariner a few years ago and I used a TA but then I couldn't control the reservation ie: sales, offer of on board credit etc...so when I went with NCL I booked directly and could then control the reservation. Good point about having the floor plan in front of me when I call. I really do appreciate the fact that you knew the call center is in Miami...you eased my mind.

sorry, but RCL call is in Kansas!!!!! Often joke to them about where is their ocean?

There may be one in Kansas, but there is definetly one right here in Miami where I live. The Miami call center is excellent. You will never have to speak to someone in a foreign country. The only bad part now is RCCL has this stupid, idiotic, horrible skit they think is entertaining while on hold. Its actually the most annoying thing I've ever heard and even worse if you need to listen to it more than once.

Thanks, everyone as long as it is in the US I am good to go! :) I found my paperwork from my last RCCL cruise in 2004 and I had used a travel agent...But if there was a sale and I couldn't get ahold of her I had problems.

You can find all the information you need online. I've never had a problem with language calling RCL. Their call center is in the midwest (Oklahoma or Kansas I think).

If you have to call, do your research online first. As with most any company, an educated consumer is probably going to know a lot more than the operator who picks up you call.

Their main call center is in Miami..I believe the C&A call center is elsewhere..but not outsourced, unless some consider it so....;)

They may have some agents in Miami, but their main call center is in the midwest. They can't afford to have the call center down during a hurricane watch or warning (or an actual hurricane) so the majority of the agents are in Kansas. Some agents work at home, and can call in from anywhere.

Yes, I will do all my research before I call to book! Thanks to everyone for the heads up on it being in the United States. I have a problem a lot of time understanding someone on the other line if they have a different dialect!

Agree. The song and the singer is annoying. They should have soft and entertaining music.
