Cigar Smoking on the Allure

Recommended Posts

Hello. My wife and I are looking forward to our first cruise. We have a Bordwalk Balcony and know no smoking is permitted there but where, specifically, can my wife smoke her cigars while I'm doing my needlepoint?

Allure has several smoking designations; for one, half of the casino is smoking; there is a smokers lounge onboard; In Dazzle's night club; the upstairs is smoking; downstairs no smoking; wait until you get onboard; you will find your wife has several choices to light up.

Your wife can smoke her cigars no problem.

However, needlepoint is not permittted.

Cigars are a different story.....I don't believe there is anywhere indoors on Oasis/Allure that will allow cigar smoking.

My numuro uno concern on my upcoming Allure cruise. I have met some of the nicest most interesting people in the cigar lounge on other RCL cruises.

I enjoy and look forward to my evening spent in the lounge. However from what I know about Allure and not having time to see/do all in 7 days this may be a good thing.

My personal opinion is that the cigar lounge generates little to know revenue.

They sell very few cigars in a week since we bring our own and they sell drinks that we most likely will consume elsewhere like possibly the casino???.

Geez! Another person who will be doing needlepoint on the balcony! I was not able to enjoy my last balcony because of excessive needlepointing on the balcony next door!:D:D:D

You won't think it funny when your eye gets poked out.

There is not a cigar lounge on Allure. They offer Cigars Under The Stars after 7PM on one of the upper, forward decks. I do not remember the exact location, but it was in the Compass every day.

The cigar lounge on the Allure is nearly impossible to find. It is located in a lounge/bar above the Solarium, and is only open at night. During the day the area is reserved for suite guests. During the evening if you go towards the cantilevered hot tubs there are staircases on the port and starboard sides with gates, go to the port side, climb stairs, needlepoint to heart's content...

I am not sure how strict the staff is on Allure, but on Oasis my hubby went up to the suite deck area with his measly blue sea pass card during the day and light up his cigar and NEVER had a problem. He got to know the bar tenders and other staff up there and had daily conversations. Not once was he told he could not smoke his cigars up there during the day.

He also did enjoy his cigars on our balcony  I know, I know, he is totally selfish:p But the man travels with a full size humidor and takes ONE vacation a year, so he is allowed to be a little selfish. If anyone had actually complained he would have moved to another location, but no one seem to mind. Especially since it seemed like everyone was smoking cigarettes around us.

When we sailed on Allure this past February the man in the ocean side balcony to our left smoked a cigar out there every night. I HATE the smell of cigar smoke, but he somehow managed to be out there every night just when I would have appreciated pure ocean air.

I wasn't clear on the cigar rules on Allure, so I never said anything to him or anyone about it, but I don't think cigar smokers "deserve" to smoke cigars in public places any more than others "deserve" fresh, unpolluted air. I did write in my passenger comments card at the end of the cruise, how disappointed I was that Allure allows cigar smoking on balconies.

With all the negativity re:cigar smoking and not wishing to offend I will be leaving my cigars at home.Instead I will be bringing my chewing tobacco ,does RCL have spitoons on board or shall I make other arrangements?

????

Just take a clear plastic water bottle around with you and spit into it, so that all may share in the joy! :D

I know that sounds really gross, but folks I know that "dip" tobacco actually do it. Yet cigar smokers get the bad rap.

It never fails to amaze me that folks drive vehicles that spew toxins into the air by the ton but seriously object to the whiff of cigar smoke!Just for the record I'm a non smoker ,non chewer!
