clinthi Posted March 30, 2013 #78 Share Posted March 30, 2013 EVERY cruise: Take a picture of our cabin Try at least one new drink Walk the ship on the first day Play the black 8 on the Roulette wheel Buy a ship ornament
cruisegirl1 Posted April 13, 2013 #79 Share Posted April 13, 2013 My husband buys me a bud vase or similar flower arrangement on every cruise. (We are talking a long tradition as we are somewhere between cruise 60 and 70!) RCCL has a lovely flower cart so he picks out the flowers when we board. If traveling on another line, he orders flowers for the cabin. M
olemissreb Posted April 13, 2013 #80 Share Posted April 13, 2013 Breakfast in the cabin every morning Champagne in the cabin after boarding (this actually started with our 3rd cruise when Celebrity greeted us with glasses of champagne as we stepped on board) DOD in hand on the top deck for sail away Reading with an adult cold beverage within reach Get an ornament of the ship - this started last cruise when our kids were with us and seeing them reminisce at Christmas about the last cruise is just priceless. Crying on the balcony the last night - I'm the only one that does this. My mom is sailing with us this time, so who knows? Maybe she'll be crying out there with me!:o:) Our last cruise, we got sparkling cider for the kids (now 17 & 13) so they could toast with us and they thought it was disgusting. This time we may just let them have a swallow of the real stuff - with a Sprite chaser!
Buggbob Posted April 15, 2013 #81 Share Posted April 15, 2013 I sing "the Love Boat Theme" to my wife, regardless of which cruise line we’re on. Decorate the room and door with appropriate seasonal decorations. Take the batteries out of the cell phone and store it in the safe. Plot my eating schedule, sit down breakfast, breakfast buffet, sit down lunch, lunch buffet, cookies and ice-cream snack, sit down dinner, dinner buffet, pizza, late night buffet and room service every day! Plan on walking a mile a day around the deck, but never do.
Jiminy1955 Posted May 30, 2013 #82 Share Posted May 30, 2013 Only been on 2 previous short cruises but plan to combine must do's and add a few. Have 1 or 2 Drambuie every night at whatever lounge/bar I am in. Buy Christmas ornament. Have soft serve chocolate ice cream daily. Play shuffle board...learned to play last year w/6 & 10 year old grandkids & had a blast!

LostAlice Posted June 27, 2013 #86 Share Posted June 27, 2013 Seems like my boyfriend and I have a habit of late night hot tub visits and Sorrentos. It is a nightly occurrence on every cruise since we aren't the club type.
Rare Scrapnana Posted June 30, 2013 #87 Share Posted June 30, 2013 I like to stop for a couple of seconds as I am crossing from the gangway onto the ship, look down at the water, and think how lucky I am to be going on a cruise.

AuroraMeansDawn Posted January 19, 2014 #94 Share Posted January 19, 2014 Turn off my cell phone, order a yellow bird at some point so I can watch them pull out the really big bottle of Galiano out to make it, thank the wonderful people who take care of me and laugh at at least one towel animal that I think looks a wee bit naughty. AuroraMeansDawn Posted January 21, 2014 #97 Share Posted January 21, 2014 What's in a yellow bird? Juice of half a lime 1 1/4 oz orange juice[/url] 1 oz light rum 1 oz dark rum 1/4 oz Galliano (It's the liqueur that is always in the back of the bar in the really long tall bottle.) Cherry on top Mix it all in a cocktail shaker and pour over ice. Delish! And it helps if you sing the calypso song that goes "Yellow Bird, Sits in the Banana tree" while you drink it. :)
christinalvt Posted January 21, 2014 #98 Share Posted January 21, 2014 I like the idea many of you mentioned about trying new foods, its a perfect opportunity to try without wasting money if you don't like it. I love doing trivia, too, and if they have any game shows I always participate. I won the 60 Seconds or Less Show on Carnival once! One thing I haven't tried yet but got the idea on these boards: mixing ice cream with coffee for a frappucino! Yum!
