celebrity Summit

Thinking about taking Summit in March 2012 from San Juan. Celebrity website talks about Summit being "Solsticized" for 2012. Has this been done yet? I've seen some comments about the ship being old and worn. What's are your thoughts on this ship vs some of the newer ones?

We will be traveling with 2 college daughters, a married daughter and husband in their 30s, and 1 or 2 other couples in their 50s. Are there enough activities (especially late-night scene) on Celebrity for the younger passengers, or is it geared more toward an older crowd? Would RCL Adventure of the Seas (similar itinerary) be a better choice for us? How does entertainment compare between Celebrity and RCL?

It will be done in January 2012 so nope, it has not been done yet.

She is 11 years old so nope she is not new. If you want something

in the newest range....Eclipse is the newest vessel in the fleet with

Silhoutte coming this summer.

I sailed Summit last month and had a wonderful time.:) The Southern

Caribbean itineray is one of my favorites:) and I am planning to go

again before year end. I love the ship.

I am guessing most people would tell you the nightlife on Royal is

much busier. I have only sailed with them once so I cannot give you

a comparison. I am sure others will chime in though.

Thanks! That's good news. Yes, it is the itinerary that has peaked our interest.

She should look like a new ship, and the itin. is hard to beat. All of you should have a great time. I did a b2b on her in the fall of 2010 in her unrefurbed state and loved the ship. She also has a great crew. Have a great time and do not worry.

Anne :)
