nanazsun Posted March 29, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 29, 2011 We are booking very early to Russia and Scandinavia (for next August) and are looking at A3 concierge cabins. They all look fine, mid ship, balconies, etc. but for those of you who have sailed, which are best? (We have already answered the question "To concierge or not concierge.") Sailed previously on Insignia as well as other lines and are excited to return to Oceania. Thanks.
floridaphilly Posted March 30, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 30, 2011 We have been assigned 10002 as a guarantee penthouse. I am wondering if there is any problem with this being so close to the front of the ship. Should we try to see if they can change it?

Then it may be a problem if the seas are bumpy

For "Best", on the Marina, I'd have to suggest that you revisit the idea of a Concierge stateroom, particularly on deck 9. Having access to that beautiful Concierge Lounge, and it's bottomless refrigerators full of soft drinks, would really make Concierge "worth it" for us. We definitely ran into rough seas but I didn't find the far front location any worse than other areas of the ship.
Fleury Posted March 31, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 31, 2011 Sorry, but I'm going to disagree about the Concierge on Mariner. Love Oceania and will travel with them again but we will pay extra for a Penthouse or pay less for a balcony and no conciege. Upgraded toiletries and a beach bag didn't cut it for us when we can get soft drinks etc easily so many other places on the ship. Concergierge was more worthwhile on the Regatta class ships as you get other services - if that is still the case. It's hard not to enjoy O regardless of what cabin you are in. Rare LHT28 Posted March 31, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 31, 2011 Sorry, but I'm going to disagree about the Concierge on Mariner. Do you mean Marina? Mariner is another cruise line
gillianrose Posted March 31, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 31, 2011 And then which Mariner? Some people refer to Mariner meaning Mariner of the Seas and others refer to Mariner as Regent Seven Seas Mariner, and then there are Mariner clubs, Mariner Society, etc. Maybe the whole nautical them is so overused that it's time to just call ships Betsy, Dora, Kathy, Jill or Michael. :)
neilrr Posted March 31, 2011 #9 Share Posted March 31, 2011 This will be our first trip on Oceania and we are looking forward to it. It is the Transatlantic June, 2012 (late in the season- MIA to Barcelona) -- too good of a deal to pass up. We decided to take an outside cabin. It is on Deck 3... We are looking forward to seeing the fish pass by our window... Seriously, we have been in all types of staterooms over the years --should be fun...
