sugar free desserts on Royal

Was wondering if the sugar free Desserts are good for a diabetic? And more importantly are they good. :o

Hi again, saleaaway. Getting closer, huh? Excited. :D

I have seen the following examples: in the dining room, one flavor of sugar-free ice cream each night, one sugar-free dessert option such as Key Lime Pie, Chocolate Mint Cake, Pastry swan filled with SF mousse, etc.. In the Windjammer and the Café Promenade, there will always be one sugar-free cookie to choose from beside the other regular ones. In my opinion, and you know I am diabetic since we have talked before, all of the offerings are tasty.

Having said that, remember it's about the carbs. All of the above-mentioned desserts and treats have carbohydrates, obviously. They will still raise your blood sugar level. The nutritional information is not available for these items, so it's really a guessing game. Like I said previously, I decline the carbohydrates during the meal so I can have dessert afterward. I have learned to leave the rice, potatoes, and breads behind so I can have dessert. You will need to decide for yourself how to handle this, and remember to monitor your blood sugar so you can see what effect, if any, the desserts are having on you.

Don'tcha worry... I know you will enjoy Explorer, all she has to offer, and all the fabulous healthy diabetic choices you will have. :)
