Missiowa Posted March 30, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 30, 2011 I just read on facebook from John Heald there is a new "on us" program. Has anyone else heard about this or knows about it? It was just posted a hour ago.
mama_2_boys Posted March 30, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 30, 2011 Here is what I found on it: The program works like this; keep your Sail & Sign card in the slot machines while playing, when you reach 1500 points, you get a "Drink On Us" card. You will then receive FREE drinks while playing in the casino for the rest of the cruise. Table Players can also qualify for the card. They will need to ask the Pit Boss/Supervisor to get rated for the program. They do this manually.

They keep track of how much you spend in the casino and when you hit 1500 points all the drinks IN the Casino are free.

llachance Posted March 31, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 31, 2011 playing the penny slots and winning about 200.00 when it was all said and done I came no where near the 1500 points required.

Just curious about how long did you play. Other lines do their rewards based on time played. My DW did six hours on the three card poker table the first night and had half the points needed for 100 OBC on NCL
Sargent_Schultz Posted March 31, 2011 #10 Share Posted March 31, 2011 Please don't tell a point equals a buck. A point is more than a buck - BUT - it is not based on how much you win or lose, but how much you play. You could win or lose more than $1500 and not have 1500 points, or you could be even and have over 1500 points.
llachance Posted March 31, 2011 #11 Share Posted March 31, 2011 played every evening before dinner on a 5 night cruise (so about 5-6 hours) . On carnival the points go up the more you spend. So when I put my winnings back in I gained some more points. I never will get up to 1500 points gambling on the ship...

My DW did six hours on the three card poker table the first night and had half the points needed for 100 OBC on NCL Table games are rated differently than slots. I think on Carnival you need to be betting a minimum average of $25 per hand, spin, throw, whatever, to be rated.

It is certainly possible. There are no guarantees in the short term and long term odds are often not great. It is also possible to have b2b Royal flushes and not accumulate a single point. That is why it is called GAMBLING. The only guarantee is that in the long run - you lose. Winners take the money and run.
mcwebber Posted March 31, 2011 #17 Share Posted March 31, 2011 It is certainly possible. It's virtually impossible to lose $1,500 on slots and not accumulate 1,500 points. If it was a dollar slot and you wagered $3 each spin that would be 500 spins and you would have to lose almost every one of them. Not even an even money win, a $5 or $10 win in all 500 spins. If it was a dollar slot and you wagered $3 each spin that would be 500 spins and you would have to lose almost every one of them. Not even an even money win, a $5 or $10 win in all 500 spins. It is absolutely possible. At video poker, it would be more than 500 hands. But... ABSOLUTELY POSSIBLE. In any event, in order to collect the free drinks, you have to be gambling when you order, so it is highly likely you would lose even more. For most people, it would be cheaper to buy your own drinks. :p

campdaan Posted March 31, 2011 #24 Share Posted March 31, 2011 Certainly possible based on past play, line of credit, etc. Yup...First SIL turns any Slot into a personal ATM, Since her first Cruise the Casino has always "recognized" her and she has gotten wine sent to her in the dining room and champagne and strawberries. The other SIL was playing "Sex in the City" slot and while she never had huge wins, she never was out of credits. She won $500 in Bingo a few years back, but is not a big gambler. welldone60 Posted March 31, 2011 #25 Share Posted March 31, 2011 (edited) According to the Ocean Players club, http://oceanplayersclub.com/AboutTheClub/MembershipAndBenefits.aspx 1 point for every $2.50 on slots, 1 point for every $5 on video slots Table play is based on your average bet over a period of time ??? Also on the Dream last month there was a sign saying free drinks with 1000 points. Plus when you get above 1000 points you get cash back at a rate of 1 cent per point. So $2.50 to get a point, then after you bet $2500 you get $10 back. I think I will just play the slots for fun and pay for my own drinks....
