cocobeen Posted March 10, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2005 Certainly well behind the ideal planning curve, I have finally decided to cruise with HAL (vs Princess) this summer. Of course, I've learned that my (ship/date) options are limited & more importantly, there are no balcony-rooms available. Being a big trip, Alaska is probably a one-time-only for my parents (65 & 70). So, I'm wondering if I should abandon the mission for this summer & regroup for summer '06 to do it "right" ? (Maybe do Seatte/Vancouver/Lake Louise drive this yr instead) We are a destination-orientated group. While the ship should be comfortable, shows/spas & even size of room is not impt. However, I'm sort of hung up on the balcony thing for views etc even though best views might be from HAL's decks... Would be grateful for some opinions. cjh Posted March 10, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2005 If Princess has the dates and balcony go with them.
Ine Posted March 10, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2005 Or have a look at Celebrity Lines. Ships like Summit and Infinity have many verandahrooms. I think in service, food etc. there is no difference between HAL and Celebrity.
Rare geoherb Posted March 10, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2005 While a balcony cabin would have been nice, we still had a great cruise to Alaska in an outside cabin. We treated the Promenade Deck, one flight of stairs below our cabin, as our balcony.
