Maureenxx Posted April 13, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2011 What's the weather been like in July in Alaska? I know it's inpredictable, but what have been experiences of past cruisers at that time of year. We leave Seattle on July 8 :)
baggal Posted April 13, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2011 With the exception of Glacier Bay, where you do need a fleece jacket, hat and gloves to be outside on deck, it was in the 70's with sunshine (all day and night!).
jtl513 Posted April 13, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 13, 2011 As some like to say, in AK you can have four seasons in a single day. Even when warm it can be wet, especially in Ketchikan or Sitka. Bring clothes that you can wear in layers, to add or subtract as the day goes on.
Krazy Kruizers Posted April 13, 2011 #4 Share Posted April 13, 2011 our first alaskan cruise was in alaska - and it was hot -- i taken my fur coat (that was the trend back in the 80's) for the glaciers -- and i only wore it in the morning as we cruised glacier bay after that i sweltered in my wool slacks -- we were in the 80's in nearly every port a couple of years later -- and we did take different clothes -- we had a mixture of temperatures -- wore bermudas a couple of days -- heavy slacks and layered clothing the rest of the cruise so you can never tell take at least one pair of shorts/bermudas
