Balcony Rooms above Night Club

aren't those the night owl cabins as the clubs stay open until the early morning hours? Have heard people say unless your a true blue stay up and close the ship down kind of person....stay away from them. They are priced low for a reason!

How loud is it in the rooms above the night clubs on the ships? Will I be able to get some sleep? How late are they playing music? Any information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

We were on the Freedom and our cabin over the club was not only loud but the room shook from the base. Carnival gave us another cabin (inside) free of charge AND let us keep our balcony cabin to enjoy during the day. We kept all our stuff in there as well and only used the inside to sleep.

It can be a major issue if your room is right over one of the nightspot clubs. I would try to move rooms. If you are on the deck above those clubs, try to get a room over something else, crew area, bathrooms, coffee bar, something else. Use the deck plans to figure it out.

We were on the April 2 Liberty in an aft cabin located on the Upper deck directly above the Piano Bar. The music and singing went on until the early morning hours clear as a bell. I would never book a room above a club of any type again. There was certainly no special price or discount for an aft cabin either!

It would depend on exactly where you are located- some cabins over lounges are ok- if that cabin is directly above a stage area of any lounge-- MOVE.

There is also a band that sets up across from the casino bar that does not start playing until 9pm and goes to the wee hours. again- if you are in that area-- MOVE

We had one on our Freedom cruise. We could hear the music and the feel the base. It was awful. I now make sure when getting a room I stay away from the disco and the Lido. Hearing scraping chairs at 5:00 is no fun either LOL.

oh crap...we're in a balcony above the lounge they do karoke in and right above the stage. I am a light sleeper and we call it a night around 11pm. Exactly how late do those lounges go? We have an inside accross from the balcony that I won by playing free cruise bingo on our last cruise...we're putting the 2 boys in it and DS and I and our 2 girls are in the balcony. They gave me that specific inside and I wanted to book the balcony directly across from it...so we can't move as the free cabin is final.

just a few weeks ago, we almost booked a cabin on the Freedom that turned out to be DIRECTLY over the dance club. We've never had a cabin anywhere except on Riviera deck, but decided to "move up" some and get a balcony.

I was looking at the deck plans and the location of said cabin prior to booking and realized what was under it.

After reading all these posts, I am REALLY glad I looked at those deck plans first. We paid a little extra and got a midship one deck up on the Empress.

Well past 11pm for sure. Probably 1 or 2am. We actually like deck 6 which is often above all that stuff. We just always make sure to check what is beneath us. We had a balcony on Upper on Liberty last year, nice and quiet with a crew area under us. Our freinds 4 doors down said their room was loud and they could hear music til the early morning.

Just booked on the Glory and paid for the upgrade from the 6th to the 7th deck. Our balcony room would have been directly above the White Heat Dance Club. Thank you all for confirming my decision. I've never been below the 7th deck and wondered at first it it was worth the money for an upgrade.

This will be our first Carnival cruise. We booked 6452 on Liberty, which is an AFT wrap. It looks like we may be above the Victoria AFT Lounge. Should we consider switching cabins? This is for Dec, & there's no other AFT wraps available. I suppose we could look into switching to a suite. We want a bigger balcony, if possible, because we will have 3 in our cabin. What would you do?

You should be fine- But I have not been back there since they turned a lounge into the comedy clubs[ where is the comedy club on the Liberty now.

I just booked our next cruise on the Valor today. I almost booked our cabins on the upper deck above the aft club. After giving it some thought, decided I didn't think I would like that area, because I wondered if the noise wouldn't be a problem. We usually hit the sack around 11:00 to 11:30. Decided to pay a few more bucks and move up one to the empress deck. After reading the replies on this thread, I am sure glad i did!!

So excited that I have another cruise booked!

We were directly over the stage area and heard a constant beat all night and then the last night it was so loud we could not sleep . We did complain on the last night and they turned it down . I am really careful to see where I am located after that experience and no ,there was no discount for that room.

Thanks for the reply. :) I don't know where the comedy club is. The deck plans only say Victoria AFT Lounge.

  • 2 months later...

We're booked on the Liberty for November and have an extended balcony aft cabin. From the deck plans, it looks like it is located above the Victoria Aft Lounge, but not directly above the stage, and not exactly above the lounge. Anyone ever stay in one of these cabins, and if so, how was the noise level?
