werepullen5 Posted April 19, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2011 Are espressos or cappicinos in the MDR included with dinner or would you have to pay for these? Somewhere I thought I read you could get them with dinner? We are going on Voyager of the Seas Thanks!
Vegas Vic Posted April 19, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2011 On my last cruise (Radiance / Alaska), those types of drinks were for purchase, but were listed on the menu as a suggestion.
Langley Cruisers Posted April 19, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2011 On RCI, you will be charged extra for them. They are listed at the bottom of the dessert menu with the words, "Specialty coffees available at bar pricing." or something like that.
werepullen5 Posted April 19, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted April 19, 2011 Ok good to know! Thanks so much! Is there a specialty coffee card you can buy, like the soda card?
Langley Cruisers Posted April 20, 2011 #5 Share Posted April 20, 2011 Is there a specialty coffee card you can buy, like the soda card? No, RCI does not offer this. The specialty coffees are charged individually.
lpizzuro123 Posted April 20, 2011 #6 Share Posted April 20, 2011 We were on the NOS in February and the regular coffee in the MDR was not that great. One night I wanted an espresso. I knew there was a charge and I am pretty sure it was $2.50. Linda
Sugar*Magnolia Posted April 20, 2011 #7 Share Posted April 20, 2011 Are espressos or cappicinos in the MDR included with dinner or would you have to pay for these? Somewhere I thought I read you could get them with dinner? We are going on Voyager of the Seas Thanks! I had a cappucino one morning with breakfast in the MDR, Diamond area. I have to say, it was some sort of "concotion" of regular coffee with maybe some added powdered hot chocolate. It was fine, but definitely not a real cappucino! (*Note, this was december 2010 and on Explorer,it could be different in the MDR on other ships?)
Shekim Posted April 20, 2011 #8 Share Posted April 20, 2011 On the Voyager in March had one in the MDR and it was $2.95. Worth it! And I happen to LOVE the coffee on RCI. Nice and strong; I usually have a cup after dinner but one night i wanted something different. YUMMY
Sugar*Magnolia Posted April 20, 2011 #9 Share Posted April 20, 2011 For me, the coffee on board is kind of interesting. As far as Im aware, it is Seattle Best. Most of our RC cruises, I hate the coffee in the MDR and WJ, but yet room service coffee was very, very good. Puzzling. I love strong, strong coffee, but Seattles best on board is (for me) very, very bitter. I just dont get it! lol Again, food and these things are so subjective. [and I love Starbucks!] Go figure! lol
matj2000 Posted April 20, 2011 #10 Share Posted April 20, 2011 We used to get the cappucino's even after they started charging but on the last trip we switched to just coffee after dinner. It's pretty crappy to charge for them in the MDR. I know Carnival they don't charge..
Rare silentbob007 Posted April 20, 2011 #11 Share Posted April 20, 2011 It is pay in the MDR for specialty coffees. Carnival is the line that offers free specialty coffees at dinner (or at least they did).
volleyballmom87 Posted April 20, 2011 #12 Share Posted April 20, 2011 We take a coffee press for our morning coffee. Cannot stand room service or windjammer coffee. We order hot water from room service. It is our morning wake up call when they call to tell us they are on their way.
