Looking for a two day stay close to downtown shopping and beach area that won't cost a arm & leg. For Feb. Any info on how to get my best deal?? Any old Mom & Pop places that are not so bad?? Or someplace that is easy access to both. Thanks, Lynn

Also, OP, know that beach and cheap doesn't usually appear in the same sentence in Florida, or any number of other locations.

Fort Lauderdale, DD and I got the Westin across from the beach in Oct for 130.00 with taxes through Priceline. Looking for something a little cheaper for two nights in Feb for DH and I

Try the Sleep Inn & Suites. It is a newer hotel with good reviews and great rates. There is a shopping center across the street and from another review I read, you can walk the sidewalk all the way down to the beach. It is about a mile. The hotel has airport pick-up, a port shuttle and a free breakfast. If you have AAA or AARP or have a senior in your group you can get a discount on your room rates. Here is their link.

Feb in south FLA will not be as cheap as October :( - start shopping now, book something you can live with (we like the Pier 66) that you can cancel without penalty, and then keep shopping. Good luck! :)
