Master mixologist question

Is carnival still doing it?? Has any one done this?? What was the process like??

I won it on the Spirit last May. You 1st bring a drink recipe to a call out of sorts, you'll see it in the Fun Times. Then the CCL bar manager picks the 5 drinks that he/she likes best. One afternoon on the Lido deck there's the contest where you mix your drink and the drink is judged by a few cruisers and CCL staff. If you win your drink is featured at the bars all week. All 5 finalists get to keep the drink they made and got a drink recipe book and a CCL medal. I also got a CCL funnel hat. I was a finalist on the elation a few yrs ago in this contest too and on that one we won the drink we made, a drink coupon and the CCL bar recipe book. The winner got a CCL t shirt. It's a fun contest.

They did it on Glory in Feb. You have to use what they have, cause if you win they make "your" drink at all bars the rest of the cruise, and need to have the stuff on hand. On Glory it was "judged" by 3 passengers and a bar staff guy. Good luck if you enter!

Another thing, check on your Fun Times on the day you board the ship. It should list a meeting time for anyone interested in competing in this contest. You MUST attend this meeting in order to participate. The Mixology contest is usually on the first sea day and back-to-back with the Hairy Chest Contest in the Lido stage area. It may depend on your itinerary though so just keep your eyes on the FunTimes for the meeting place.
