99% people will follow the dress code... but you dont have to wear a long dress on a formal night any cocktail style dress is fine. 99% of the men are in a dinner jacket and bow tie but again a dark suit and tie is fine.

Do read up on the ports and find what you want to do... most have a local hop on hop off bus that gets you around the city.. but via google you can find the local tourist info or get a book on the ports etc from a libuary or buy one.. and read up so you can find what you would like to visit ... some head for bars some museums.. some resturants ... everybody is different.

Read the reviews ... that way you can get an idear of what is on offer at each port. In St Petersburg you have to do trips to get off the ship you cant go alone... the trip includes your visa.. the P&O trips are great. Look on u Tube for the P&O section where lots of thetrips are filmed to view.

We've booked a two day complete st petersburg trip with Alla Tours, all the other ports you can DIY on foot which is what we're going to do. At Travemunde we're going to get on the local train to Lubeck (UNESCO site) for a couple of euros, take about 30 mins on the train.

You can find loads of info on the 'Ports of Call' boards you'll want Baltic/Northern Europe board. Or you can just google 'things to do in Copenhagen' etc...

We've also bought 2nd hand travel guides off ebay/amazon for most of ports for just a couple of pounds.
