On Board Credit

I have been looking into booking the Dream for November and it seems the cruise lines have stopped allowing the agencies to discount, getting the same "early saver" price from all, including Carnival directly. However a few of the agencies are offering to have $75 -$100 credit put on my account to spend on the cruise. Has anyone had an agency promise this and then not come through?

Be sure and ask about fees. the last one that promised me $100 OBC had a $100 cancellation fee, and some have a $25 pp charge for any changes including price drops.

Do be aware that if you choose to use a TA you will not be able to submit the price drops yourself and if the TA isnt co-operative (they lose commission with each price drop) .. you can be out of luck. There was a thread just recently where someone's TA wasnt submitting the price drops. Nothing you can do. A nice price drop that you miss can wipe out that OBC you got.

Ask BEFORE you book.
