chach123 Posted May 21, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2011 There will be two ships total in GT when the cruise ship I am on is there...will it be very crowded? I've read some reviews that said with two ships it can ruin the experience..Thoughts? TIA!
runner15km Posted May 21, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2011 If you are the 2nd ship to dock and your plans are to just enjoy the pool area at the pier you will have difficulties finding a lounge chair poolside. As for the beach if you walk just 100' away from the beach complex there is a beach hut bar with lounges along with less expensive food and drink. WillieD13 Posted May 23, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 23, 2011 With 2 ships it will be crowded. As for that ruining the experience, it should not, though that could depend on what you plan to do. Yes, the pool and Margaritaville, and the main beach will be packed, and the shops will probably be rather busy. If you move off the main beach, you will have more elbow room. If you go on an excursion, then other than the people on the excursion, you would not have a crowd.
jkjmt Posted May 28, 2011 #4 Share Posted May 28, 2011 Is Jack's Shack far enough away with two ships in port???
K&RCurt Posted June 3, 2011 #5 Share Posted June 3, 2011 Last time we were there we were supposed to be the only ship in Grand Turk. As we arrived at the dock, the Carnival Miracle was already alongside the quay. Apparantly they had missed several ports due to avoiding storms and were able to get into Grand Turk. While the pool and Margarittaville were swamped with people, there were still chairs free on the beach and we had no trouble getting a table by the bar at Jack's. It is possible that very few of the folks on the Miracle knew about Jack's as Grand Turk was not on their itinerary, but there was still about 1/2 and 1/2 folks there from our ship and the Miracle. Rare Keith1010 Posted June 6, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 6, 2011 It does depend on the size of the ships. Yes with two large ships it will be crowded in the immediate area. If you are the first ship in try to be off the ship in the first group. Keith
