fleet Posted May 24, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2011 Just wondering if anyone else has ever seen their cruise almost completely sold out with no inside, ov or balconies available? This is six months out on 12/04/11. We've only been on five cruises but this is the first time I have ever seen a cruise almost completely booked. Did someone charter the cruise? Any way to find out would be much appreciated.
smeyer418 Posted May 24, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2011 you really won't know until final payment is due. Sometimes TA's take blocks of rooms and then return them...
peg013 Posted May 24, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 24, 2011 I just checked on NCL's website and there are plenty of insides, OV, balconies and suites left! Maybe it was glitchy when you checked?
LadyShiva Posted May 24, 2011 #4 Share Posted May 24, 2011 Our cruise in less than a month is almost completely sold out. That's all the information you're getting from me about my cruise... I'm hoping to luck out on a firesale spare balcony to stick the snoring husband in! :D
fleet Posted May 24, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted May 24, 2011 Just heard back from my PCC and she said there are plenty of categories available and it must have been a glitch in the site! Whew! Quite a shock this far out to see nothing available.
Rare Laszlo Posted May 24, 2011 #6 Share Posted May 24, 2011 On our sailing (June 19th - Gem) it looks like the only thing sold out is the Villa's. Plenty of everything else
Cubechick Posted May 24, 2011 #7 Share Posted May 24, 2011 My upcoming Panama Canal Cruise is getting close. But as there are only 4 of those cruises per year, I can see why!

sierramyst44 Posted May 25, 2011 #9 Share Posted May 25, 2011 We have been on about 10 NCL cruises and have not been on one that they didn't consider "sold out"
smeyer418 Posted May 25, 2011 #10 Share Posted May 25, 2011 We have been on about 10 NCL cruises and have not been on one that they didn't consider "sold out" I have been on 15 and they always had a room or two available even though they were considered sold out. The cruise lines average 110% capacity as they consider the lower 2 in a room as a 100% NCL by its own figures averaged about 107% the last quarter. the ships are generally not full/full- up to their legal capacity- until they hit about 125-130% of lower two.... cantwait2cruise926 Posted May 25, 2011 #11 Share Posted May 25, 2011 We sailed on RCCL Explorer of the seas and that sold out fairly early. We were told that that particuliar cruise sells out fast and very few people back out right before payment. We were booked on an Aug 2007 cruise. OceanDreaming2 Posted May 25, 2011 #12 Share Posted May 25, 2011 The Sun T/A for September is nearly sold out -- only insides available. I hope there are a few cancellations (or at least one) for a balcony so we can move up. :o
goose30 Posted May 25, 2011 #13 Share Posted May 25, 2011 If you have your reservation why would it matter how early the ship is sold out? The fact of the matter is that it would be sold out by time it sails anyway.

I could be wrong though.

It would be unusual for it to be close to sold out the middle week of Dec this early. Nita
