CruisinJazz Posted June 5, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2011 A bunch of friends will be sailing on Carnival Legend Sept 2012. I've only been on one cruise and at that time it was with my then husband so I didn't have the issue of having to split charges. I will be sharing a cabin with a friend. Is there a way to have separate Sign and Sail Accounts for the same cabin? If so, how do we set this up?
Rare shof515 Posted June 5, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2011 you can do this at check in, each guest will need to use their own cash or credit cards
Snowball Posted June 5, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 5, 2011 Setting up separate accounts is simple. You just tell the agent you need them when you check in and they will set up each account during the check in process. I've done this several times and never had a problem. firefly333 Posted June 5, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 5, 2011 You do it when you fill out for the boarding pass .. before you ever board. You would have to check the box for the other person and click to agree to pay their charges in order to pay someone else's charges. Its all separate and everyone just fills out their own fun pass. Yes, this is exactly what my mom & I did for our upcoming cruise. Super easy. :)
K&P Luv2Cruise Posted June 5, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 5, 2011 A bunch of friends will be sailing on Carnival Legend Sept 2012. Is there a way to have separate Sign and Sail Accounts for the same cabin? If so, how do we set this up? When we sailed in March '10 we had to use only one account. However, each of you will have a unique portfolio number, and when you (or your friend) charges something to the card, this portfolio number will appear on the summary of charges (you can get it printed at any time from guest services, or view it on your TV screen). This helped us when the kids (18 & 23) were with us. Oldest was able to drink, and liked to gamble, so come the end of the cruise he had a 'tab' to settle with us. Youngest was smart, and kept track of her charges each day and provided me with the cash to keep herself current. Nothing worse to ruin a friendship or relationship than money. Iron out all the details before you board so there is no confusion. One thing I would suggest: if you are the 'responsible' one on the account (your CC on file), then ask your friend for an up-front deposit of $xxx.xx to cover gratuities and such. If they are careful, they'll get money back from you. If not, they may still have to come up with extra $ near the end. Have a great cruise ! sparkscruiser Posted June 5, 2011 #7 Share Posted June 5, 2011 You all print your own boarding passes and fill out your own credit card info - there is no single account to worry about in that instance. Have a great cruise!
