Pam in CA Posted July 5, 2011 #26 Share Posted July 5, 2011 I've been on the "new" old Royal Princess and loved the difference in atmosphere vs. the larger ships. Everything is more personal, from the service (buffet/dining/bar) to meeting new friends and getting to know them. On a big ship, everything is more anonymous and people you meet you'd like to get to know better seem to disappear, never to be seen again. I've been on long cruises on large ships and as I'm in the lounge, waiting to disembark, no one looks familiar. I think, "Where have these people been?" I love that on the small ship, you can walk from one end of the ship to the other in five minutes. Going back to your cabin isn't a big deal if you're a length away. :) I liken the small ship experience to going to a small college vs. a large university. Same basics, small town experience. It's not for everyone. Richard, I'm booked on segment 3 of the 2013 world cruise. Hope you're on it and I get to meet you. Your description was terrific. phabric Posted July 5, 2011 #27 Share Posted July 5, 2011 Has anybody had an obstructed oceanview cabin? If so, what was the cabin #? What was the obstruction?
