Celebrity Equinox Cabin 6192

I am booked on the Celebrity Equinox ultimate Caribbean cruise on Feb. 13th, 2012 in cabin 6192 which is category 2D obstructed balcony. I know that the obstruction are the tenders below us but am wondering if anyone cruised in this category before and if the room was nice, quiet when the tenders go down and if the view is completely obstructed or not. are we going to enjoy the balcony at all? thanks everyone :D

I believe that the tenders come up to approximately your waist area (if standing) - so your view is somewhat obstructed, but not completely obstructed.

hi Gonzo, thanks for the reply. so if we're sitting down we have no view then? I'm wondering why Celebrity chose this type of layout on this ship. the ships we've cruised before never had this issue. do you also know if it gets loud when the tenders go up and down?

I looked at the web site and for only $62 more you could move up a deck to a 2B and have a better view. Plus, you would be on a deck with cabins above and below, not that you are close to entertainment. We have been on a deck that is above the promenade deck in the past (not this ship) and the promenade deck had people walking and talking day and night.

 

It's all personal preference, I know we would pay the $62 for a better view.

The S-Class ships are designed so that most of the staterooms have a balcony. It is better to have a balcony with limited view than no balcony at all. It makes balconies more affordable, by having mostly balcony staterooms.
