cantwait32 Posted June 7, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2011 Is it cheaper to buy your drinks onboard or buy a bar credit 4 drink coupons for $23.00? How does the bar credit work?
firefly333 Posted June 7, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 7, 2011 drinks are the same price, the savings is the 15% tip isnt added on. they are good for $5.75 so if you order a more expensive drink you are usually charged the difference.

matj2000 Posted June 7, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 7, 2011 I wouldn't buy them. They only save you a few cents so no reason to pre-purchase them.
DaKarr Posted June 7, 2011 #5 Share Posted June 7, 2011 If you are trying to budget your money it might not be a bad idea to purchase them. Otherwise just buy the drinks on board. Happy Cruizin!
Grannygirl21 Posted June 8, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 8, 2011 I buy them ahead of time so there won't be any Surprises when we pay the final bill. That way, they are prepaid and If I do want something more expensive, then I don't feel bad about getting it and putting it on my sail n sign card. Offroad Posted June 8, 2011 #7 Share Posted June 8, 2011 I wouldn't buy them. They only save you a few cents so no reason to pre-purchase them. I totally disagree with you (again). There is good reason to pre-purcahse coupons. You can buy coupons throughout the previous months (it is call managing your budget) before you sail and then you do not have the bigger expense after your cruise. Crazy4Koko Posted June 8, 2011 #8 Share Posted June 8, 2011 or you can purchase gift certificates and have them applied directly to your S and S account... this worked out well for me!
