edbro Posted June 20, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2011 Are Hawaiian print or Guayabera shirts okay for dinner in MDR on non-formal evenings? Edit: title should have read "men's shirts". Stupid smartphone spell checker!
arush5268d Posted June 20, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2011 Please no.... But I think they would be allowed.
riffatsea Posted June 20, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2011 YES, You can actually wear what you like on non elegant nights. Some folks even wear T shirts so you'll be just fine!
gobucks_43228 Posted June 20, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 20, 2011 Yes. I have experienced several Hawaiian print shirts with casual pants/shorts.

arush5268d Posted June 20, 2011 #11 Share Posted June 20, 2011 LOL! You think? You have never cruised before? I've seen them sometimes, also I have seen the dress code on "elegant" night not enforced.
SadieN Posted June 20, 2011 #12 Share Posted June 20, 2011 Hubby even wears them on CE nights with a new pair of dockers and closed toe dark brown shoes. Hasn't been kicked out of the MDR on Carnival yet. The classic pleated Guayabera is formal. It's not called a "Mexican Wedding Shirt" for nothing. As far as Hawaiian shirts IMO it depends on tha patttern. Subtle palm trees woven into a tone on tone shirt, yes. Hula girls in flourescent orange, ummm no. (But flourescent orange hula girls on regular nights are just fine.) Let the flaming begin!:p Every once in a while I like to stir up the pot. Leothelion Posted June 20, 2011 #16 Share Posted June 20, 2011 I have been ORDERED by my GF to wear a long sleeve button down shirt on every casual dining night in the MDR. And a sport coat, slacks, and tie for Elegant nights on our FIRST cruise in 40 days! We are doing the Anytime Dining and I'm sure no one cares what I am wearing anyway! Incidentally, I am wearing a Guayabera shirt right now! ha!
