Casino - Cruises ex Freo

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if the casino WILL open on the "nowhere cruises" out of Freemantle. I know I read somewhere that the WA government relaxed the law recently but I don't think it spread to the shorty no where cruises. Wish sludger was here.....he would know :(

Thanks Dave.

I guess it was this highlighted bit that still has me confused. Using Pacific Sun as the example.....is it actually transiting?

The agreement provides that gaming may occur if a vessel has a minimum capacity of 100 passengers, is conducting a scheduled deepwater cruise and is transiting through WA ports from overseas or interstate.

Would it be classified as transiting, even though it is based there for a period of time?

I'm here Deb, I've still got me stripey pyjamas on though so it'll be easier for me and I won't have to change when they put me in the brig again.

You know what, I don't know, but I would suspect that they would allow gambling on the Sun because it's a bit of a gamble anyway when you get on as to whether you will get back without it breaking down again.

Seriously though I would not put it past our Nanny-State W.A. government to still ban the gambling on these cruises, it would be a real shame if they do.

Thanks Sludge. I wonder how I could find out for sure? I doubt P&O would tell the truth :p I'm flying over for a wedding in Bunbury on 10 Sept and the 3 nighter on 11th fits in perfectly but it's all about the casino for me to win back my cruise cost :D Yes, for this short solo cruise on this ship it's a deal breaker

I would say no, if it is not transiting through WA ports, but I'd ask the WA Racing and Gaming Minister, Terry Waldron, for clarification.
