Tipping for taxi

What is the custom in Cozumel -- tipping or not above the posted price?

It is always good manners to tip for a service. Taxi drivers depend on their tips to make a living.

We always tip the driver. Our ride to Nachi is $15, we usually give the driver $18.

10-20% is my standard taxi tip for good service. Have a good cruise! :)

We did not tip the taxi for our 2 minute $10 trip from PM pier to Discover Mexico (DM). We could have walked but it was very hot and humid and DW wanted to ride. The short trip was way over priced but in the $10 zone. We didn't tip on our $10 taxi from DM to downtown, because the driver was rude and dropped us off 2 blocks from the Plaza where we asked him to drop us off at. We did tip $3 to the $7 taxi ride back from downtown to PM pier. The driver was friendly, had some funny comments about weather and lack of pasengers that day, and took the time to get out and open the door for DW.
