dippydoo Posted June 23, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 23, 2011 Hi, We will be flying into MIA. Is there a shuttle that can take us from the airport to the port? Is there a cost? Thanks,
PrincessPatti Posted June 23, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 23, 2011 Here is a link to the taxi fares and shuttles for both Port of Miami and Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale). Shuttle to Port of Miami is $14/person, taxi is $24 flat rate for 1-5 people. Shuttle to Port Everglades is $30/person, taxi is $76.90 for 1-5 people. http://www.miami-airport.com/hotel_shuttles.asp
PattyG12 Posted June 23, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 23, 2011 Are you cruising out of the Port of Miami? You can grab a cab to the port.
Rare Familygoboston Posted June 23, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 23, 2011 Thanks for this link- we've been taking the RCI transfers and last time waited forever for all the other pax to disembark before going to get the airport. I'll gladly pay an extra 40 or 50 bucks to go when we are ready! Question for those who have cabbed both ways- do you find the cabbies are reluctant to take you from the port back to MIA? We've had this happen in other places where they'd rather get 2-3 short fares than one long one. TIA

cb at sea Posted June 23, 2011 #7 Share Posted June 23, 2011 A cab is $24+ tip and is the quickest, easiest way. (the fares may have gone up with these ridiculous gas prices, but it's still faster and cheaper than a shuttle bus.)
Rare Familygoboston Posted June 24, 2011 #8 Share Posted June 24, 2011 The port to MIA is a short trip -- about 15-20 minutes. I wasn't clear...we actually going from MIA to Port Everglades and then back...worried that the Port Everglades taxis may be reluctant.

The cab ride will be about $80-$90. You will be better off finding a shuttle or just flying into Ft Lauderdale to begin with.
Marie51 Posted June 25, 2011 #10 Share Posted June 25, 2011 @PrincessPatti: Do you know where I can catch the shuttle at MIA? You are better off just taking a cab from the Miami airport to the Port of Miami. Cabs are plentiful and cheaper than the shuttle if there are 2 or more of you. Just go outside baggage claim after you get your luggage and there will be cabs there.
