LogansDad Posted June 24, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2011 Hi Folks - I used to cruise RCL but for reasons I won't go into we don't cruise anymore. I still have over 30,000 points on my RCCL Credit Card and they'll start expiring soon. Does anyone know if there is anything useful I can do with the points? Obviously, I'd like to sell or transfer them... but if I read something correctly that's not allowed (???) What else can I do with them if I can't cash them in somehow? jim
judie43 Posted June 24, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2011 Not sure but can't you gets robes or polo shirts? I wonder if you can donate them to charities like you can with airline miles.

Cruisegirl7898 Posted June 24, 2011 #5 Share Posted June 24, 2011 You can be super generous and donate it to the Haitian relief or have your choice of RCCL merchandise delivered to your home

bplazo Posted June 24, 2011 #9 Share Posted June 24, 2011 Try calling the credit card department, I was asked last month if I would rather have some other reward so maybe they would change your points for something else.
phoenix1181 Posted June 24, 2011 #10 Share Posted June 24, 2011 If you have family or friends who still cruise with RCCL, you can give them OBC. I'm pretty sure the certificates allow you to identify the name of the person receiving credit (if different) as well as a reservation number. cruisenfever Posted June 24, 2011 #11 Share Posted June 24, 2011 You've had them since 2006? Points begin to expire after 5 years. So, If the OP started earning points card in July of 2006, the points would begin to expire in July of 2011.
temple1 Posted June 24, 2011 #12 Share Posted June 24, 2011 As suggested - donate them to the Haitian releif fund. Otherwise, what does it matter? They didn't cost you anything, you didn't have to pay a fee for them to accumulate so let them expire.
wvufan Posted June 24, 2011 #13 Share Posted June 24, 2011 Not sure of the provisions of your card, but we cashed in Celebrity American Express for cash instead of OBC. They simply sent a check. You might try calling Crown and Anchor and seeing what they say. Happy Sails to You OOOEEE :D:D Bob and Phyl

LogansDad Posted June 26, 2011 Author #16 Share Posted June 26, 2011 Thanks for all the great suggestions! I do a lot of donating elsewhere but I suppose I might go that route (could use the tax deductions.) Rather try an get a little cash for my upcoming (land) trip to Russia. (Adopting a little girl).
