10 night cruise - Which ports are you tendered to and which do you dock directly?

Raiatea and Papeete are the only two ports where the PG docks. It is really immaterial most times as the tenders are fairly regular and the ship is small.

The only time I really hated the tendering was with the high swell in Aitutaki where it took over 45 minutes just to fill one tender. In Aitutaki the ship anchors out of the lagoon.

The Societies and Tuamotus are all surrounded by atolls and the water is calmer than your average lake. As Emdee points out, the more remote islands (Marquesas, Cooks) are a different matter entirely; much younger and rougher coastline.

Also, tendering works fine on a 300 pax ship. Not a big deal typically.
