~*Specific Questions Regarding Miracle*~

Recommended Posts

Sailing soon on the Miracle. I have a few questions that I hope you can help me with:

1) Chef's Table - What night does it take place? Is it true you need close toed shoes to attend?

2) Steakhouse - Would like to make a reservation. aside from Chef's Table night, what do you suggest is a good night to skip the MDR? Is there a brunch offered in Steakhouse?

3) Do you know if Kava is served on board?

4) My Dad's wife needs a wheel chair, occasionally, to get around. Any good suggestions where to store it in a balcony cabin?

5) What scent/style shampoo/body wash is provided? Were you happy with it?

6) Best option for keeping door decorations stuck to outside of door?

I may come up with a few more. Let's see how it goes..... Thanks in advance for your help!! :D

Sailing soon on the Miracle. I have a few questions that I hope you can help me with:

1) Chef's Table - What night does it take place? Is it true you need close toed shoes to attend? It usually takes place on a sea day that is not the Cruise Elegant night. It is suggested that you wear closed toe shoes as you will be walking around in the galley, where things have been known to fall on occasion.

2) Steakhouse - Would like to make a reservation. aside from Chef's Table night, what do you suggest is a good night to skip the MDR? Is there a brunch offered in Steakhouse? Can't really say when is the best night to book the Steakhouse. We usually book it once on board, and will select the second of the two Cruise Elegant nights as we are not fans of what is usually served. Unfortunately brunch is not offered in the steakhouse, only dinner.

3) Do you know if Kava is served on board? No idea what Kava is sorry :(

4) My Dad's wife needs a wheel chair, occasionally, to get around. Any good suggestions where to store it in a balcony cabin? There really is not a whole lot of room in a Balcony cabin. Best bet would be to rent one that folds if at all possible.

5) What scent/style shampoo/body wash is provided? Were you happy with it? Not sure as I usually bring our own shampoo and body lotion with us.

6) Best option for keeping door decorations stuck to outside of door? Masking tape usually does the trick for us!

I may come up with a few more. Let's see how it goes..... Thanks in advance for your help!! :D

Hope this helps!

Thanks Susan.

Kava is Spanish Champagne. I just prefer the taste. It's my new drink of choice.

I will most likely be making the steakhouse reservation this week because we have 30 ppl and that can be done through travel agent ahead of time. I think you have the right instinct missing Formal Night. Is there a lobster night? Are there two formal nights on an 8 night cruise? This is my first time on Carnival in 27 years so I am sure things have changed.

Yes the wheelchair folds, Do you think it will fit under the bed?

Sad about brunch. We had an AMAZING brunch on Disney!!

Thanks again!

Kava is a sort of coffee drink that some say causes hallucianations.

Cava is more of a less dry sparkling Spanish wine. (champange in europe only comes from France).

Good thing I didnt answer, as kava is what I thought he wanted.

Unless you have a handicapped cabin a Wheel chair will need to be folded up to get through the door.

It can be folded up- you can be left on the balcony. or left folded at the cabin door.

Store it folded between the bed and the window of the balcony.

lots of places.

--

body wash/ shampoo- doesnt it change

last cruise was Lever 2000 body wash and Dove for Shampoo.

Next cruise was something coopletly different and I swear they were the same thing- if you got finicky hair-- you better take your own.

You may bring a bottle of wine/champage on board per adult - must be in your carryon - so feel free to bring your Cava/kava with you!

I have seen wheelchairs folded and left outside the cabin in the hallways - guess that is okay to do and saves space in the cabin.

Steakhouse reservations - I skip 1st/last nights - like to meet wait staff/see my tabel and on last night goodbye and tips....then there will be 2 elegant nights (lobster night is the first one) and I don't want to miss those (usually days 2 and 6?)....which leaves evenings 3,4 or 5 for steakhouse - I pick depending on how late we are in port and what we may be doing (too tired or eating at an all inclusive beach club, etc)....

Since you have sailed carnival before hopefully they have this on record and you will get an invitation to the Past Guest party? (free drinks/canapes)......and don't forget the Fun Farewell party (last night 5-6 pm) - it will be noted on the tear off part of the Fun times - not well advertised - this is for all cruisers and lots of free drinks to be had as well - look for it!

I would go to the Steakhouse the very first night, as you get a free bottle of wine. It may not be the best but hey it is free!! I booked mine online alreay for my Sept Valor Cruise. That way I don't have to remember when I get on. Have a great cruise!! :p

Thanks D & J!

We also have a cocktail party I need to work around. So many details!

8 days! Wow that time has flown.

Still waiting to hear if anyone knows chefs table night!

I think the 'chef's table' night varies according to cruise - and sometimes there may be 2 if there is enuf demand. On our recent cruise they 1st indicated one evening and then changed it to another!

Another question: Do you need cash for the casino. My dad believes it is only cash or there is a surcharge on your credit card. Can you use your sail and sign card with no charge to gamble?

Thanks again!! :)

Yes you can use cash in the casino to put in the machine. When you cash out it will go onto your sail & sign but you have to cash it out as it won't go into your balance to use in the shops and steakhouse, etc. It is separate. Just go to the cashier counter give them your card and will ask for your pin # (which you set up prior on a machine or ask for the attendents help) then they will give you your cash. :p

if he uses the sign and sail card at the cage or at the table to get money off the sign and sail side- he will be charged a 3% charge (I thought it went up to 5%)

use the sign and sail card in the slot machine will cost nothing.

There will be directions on each machine how to do this.

Your card will need to be set up so you can transfer any winning to the card- machines do not cash out

8 Day Miracle cruise will have two formal/elegant nights; usually both on sea days. The lobster tails will be served in the MDR (main dining room) on one of the two elegant nights. Since you are thinking of the steakhouse, it does have the lobster.

Before fleet wide calling them steakhouses, "Nick and Nora's" supper club was a fantastic experience. Both the food and service were outstanding. Consider it will be about a three hour meal, with each of the courses served. As for a group that size, I would definately book it before it gets too late. That will give them plenty of time to book others reservations. If you wait too long, or once onboard, they may have difficulty sitting your entire group, especially together.

PS. Miracle is our favorite Carnival ship.
