I thought Captain Felix Shrecko Ban was on Quantum. Saw a picture of him taking her from the shipyard. Just wondering where he is.

Three of 4 Quantum (or quantum class) captains were supposed to be on board for the sea trials. This was to include captains Patrik, Srecko, and Claus. Capt. Gus who said he wouldn't be there. How it turned out is unknown but apparently Capt. Srecko was there if you saw a photo.

 

Karen will be having to manually change her list since at first the captains won't be doing 10 week rotations. Capt. Patrik is bringing her across and staying for how long isn't known for sure - at least not by me.

 

Capt. Srecko will be on and in command at least by Dec 1 if not sooner. Capt. Gus will follow Srecko.

 

Capt. Claus was there for the sea trials since he will be an Anthem captain along with Capt. Gus who is supposed to move to that ship.

 

I suppose they can make any changes they want along the way but that's the way it was to be the last I heard which was at the end of August - info direct from one of the captains.

Aris Medina is the captain on Majesty right now. I'll see if I can see when he came onboard.

 

thank you...I had him coming on 6-13 and going home for vacation 8-22 but someone posted that Capt Karin wasn't coming back yet on 8-22. So I don't know when Medina went home and came back. Obviously there had to have been somebody on between 8-22 and now. Like you said, reports from the smaller ships are few and far between. thank you for your help

Is it confirmed that Captain Claus Andersen (with e by the way) is first and Gus Andersson is second on Anthem? Would be great to know as we are sailing Mid June and should have the second Captain.

 

I also noticed that Captain Manolis and Henrik Sorensen disappeared from the list, is this a mistake or a true change? On the other side Captain Ole-Johan Gronhaug and Göran Peterson are still on two ships.

 

Does anyone know anything about Captain Toni Calne? It is quiet unusual for a newly promoted Captain to start directly on a bigger ship!

Capt Göran Peterson is just a place holder on Independence until the other captain is know, I'm sure. He is back into the regular Radiance rotation and his replacement there isn't known yet.

 

It's not known who will be first on Anthem to the best of my knowledge. They also just need to be plugged in there since they are the known captains. That might be a good guess based on where Capt. Claus is in his Navigator rotation right now, which I haven't looked at.

 

I can't help you with the other ones.

Looking at the official photo and article from the Quantum handover ceremony the first and current Captain is Shrecko Ban. So Captain Dahlgren might only do behind the scences duties, maybe also due to his role in the Corporate Office? This would be less than what Captain Bill Wright did as Captain just for the hand over and very first voyages on Freedom and Oasis.

 

If anyone is interested it would be nice to start a quick list with all first Captains of the RCI ships? I know e.g. Voyager> Captain Sveind Petersen, Explorer > Captain Olaf Nysetter, Adventure > Captain Arnulf Remo , Navigator > Captain Leif Otto Bang, Mariner > Captain Johnny Faevelen, Radiance > Captain Ron Holmes, Brilliance > Captain Nik Antalis, Serenade > Captain Stig Nilsen, Oasis > Captain Tor Olsen ............

It seems there is no telling about anything anymore since RCI changes things at the drop of a hat.

 

Pictures can be deceiving or maybe not. I know what I was personally told by one of the Quantum captains but at this point, it doesn't make it so.

Capt Tor did not get to bring out Oasis, he was yanked from Oasis and put down on Freedom when his wife caused a stir among the crew on Oasis. Capt Tor is now eligible for a different ship and should be moved this winter to another ship

Nice video. Capt. Gus is there and I think I saw Capt. Johan. Or do I have him confused with someone else who reminds me of him?

 

It will be nice to hear who is in command for the maiden voyage with passengers on Sunday. With all due respect, maybe the captain who said who would be in command has no idea what he's talking about (which isn't a first for a captain) or maybe he does. Or maybe the plan was changed since the end of August. Or maybe it wasn't. Until it happens we won't know for sure.

 

I'm sure it's easiest to label each captain with their permanent positions on the video rather than to go through a detailed explanation of who might do what temporarily.
