Can't say for sure but it sounds reasonable (about 10 weeks from 2/18) that he started rotation yesterday, 5/3.

Found out from my personal cruise planner at RCCL that Captain Zini has been promoted and will be working out of the corporate offices in Miami. She's not sure when he starts but eventually they will be putting a replacement for him on the Allure when Captain Johnny rotates off

Gina........look for a group of captains to be moved withing the next few months......and from what I have learned, one day they will have been on the ship that they have served for years, and the next day........a new ship.

 

I have been warned by some friendly captians, that there is churning going on in corporate........so, we will see if that is a myth.........or the truth.

 

If you are on a ship due to the captain being on the ship, beware.....there is shifting coming!:eek::rolleyes:

It seems they are constantly shifting around. I've heard they are generally moved around the 3 year mark. HDs, too. It's been about 4 years for Captain Clause and Clunis, the hotel director. I imagine he's not far behind in the move.

 

Capt. Sindre has only been with RD for a year and 5 months now so hopefully he'll be around a while longer. But when the move my favorite Concierge, bartender, and dining room people, we will likely follow.... :) unless of course they move RD to a must see location. We can only do AK and Australia so many times.

 

I just wish we knew who will be joining RD as Master come July.

The Capt of the Liberty in March was almost impossible to understand when he made his annoucements. I love the noon announcements and unfortunately couldn't understand him.

Gina, I don't know when the switch will be made. RD is doing 11 wk rotations as Capt Sindre wants to be home for the birth of his first child the end of the summer/beginning of fall (I think). So it could be in Jan 2013 when Capt Claus moves.

Too bad he doesn't get someone else to make the announcements on his behalf. A newbie would be straining to try and figure out if something important is being announced.

So are you saying you think Capt Claus might still be on RD this summer when Capt Sindre goes home? I know on April 4 Claus said he planned to be in RD in August and that there was a reason the 10 week rotation wasn't always reliable. Then just says later Sindre said the baby is due in late Sept. Which is why he will be home until late October. It all fell into place in my mind (for what that is worth :) )until I saw Claus on the NV list.

 

So if I understand correctly, Capt. Claus may remain with RD until early 2013. Is this correct?

So soon? I was on Brilliance on a cruise that started the 26th of March and ended on April 7th. Captain Manolis was onboard the entire cruise. In other words that means a very short rotation for captain Sørensen.
