12.4.11 ~ Do YOU believe in MAGIC? **~TEAM MAGIC~** Official CC Group - Dec 4, 2011~

Why make a new board when you had two to start with? Why not just use the other one that other people are already on so everyone would be together?

That is Great having all those posts. Congrats everyone.

Patty

Patty, I suspect it was the powers that be that made this decision. I doubt that Host Randy was behind the change. Oh well, glad you found us!

What I'm saying is there is now two site for this week still open. Why not just use the other one and not start a new one.

No, I'm sure Randy wouldnt have started a new one unless he had to. He likes to see how hirgh the posts will get. If you have never cruised with him before you will have fun. Just saying.

I found us and I am still on the list - Yeah. With vacation and summer activities I have only been checking the board occasionally - then poof I have been locked out?!?!? I have been behaving myself or so I thought .

We had a great time on vacation, I drove with 2 teenage girls over 3300 miles in 10 days to meet up with DH and a teenage boy who flew out to AZ, but we are all still alive. I so deserve this cruise! Grand Canyon is beautiful, however the Colorado River is far from the blue waters of the Carribean, it was very green. I did do a day cruise on Lake Powell which was a little more blue and then "hiked" to Rainbow Bridge, it wasn't really a hike but rather a steep walk to an amazing natural bridge, highly reccommend the adventure. Saw lots of new things and got to visit with some family I hadn't seen since my dad passed 6 years ago.

So after driving half way across the country, I am so ready to drive the 18 hours to get on a big boat and let somebody else take the helm.

Welcome back home. I am glad you had a nice time. I saw some of your picures, they wee nice. Is it time to cruise on the Magic yet? I am soooo ready!

Good Morning!!

I am an avid reader, love hardback books, and after two years of research, I finally broke down and purchased a 3rd generation kindle. It arrived yesterday afternoon and I am so excited :D It is amazing how clear the letters are and how easy it is to read the print.

Team Magic's Official Theme Song

"Do You Believe In Magic"

Do you believe in Magic?

In a cruiser's heart

How the music can free them

whenever it starts

And it's Magic

if the music is groovy

It makes you feel happy like a lido deck movie

I'll tell ya about the Magic

It'll free your soul

but it's like trying to tell a stranger 'bout Carnival shows

If you believe in Magic, don't bother to choose

If it's lido deck music or rhythm and blues

Just cruise and listen

It'll start with a smile

It won't wipe off your face no matter how hard you try

Your feet start tapping

And you can't seem to find

How you got there

So just blow your mind

If you believe in Magic

Come along with me

We'll dance until morning, just you and me

and maybe, if the music is right

I'll meet ya tomorrow

so late at night

We'll go a dancin' baby then you'll see

all the Magic's in the music and the music's in me, yeah

Do you belive in Magic? Yeah.

Believe in the Magic in a cruiser's soul

Believe in the Magic of Carnival shows

Believe in the Magic that can set you free

Ohhhh, talkin' bout Magic

Do you believe like I believe?

Do you believe in Magic?

[repeat]

Good Morning!!

I am an avid reader, love hardback books, and after two years of research, I finally broke down and purchased a 3rd generation kindle. It arrived yesterday afternoon and I am so excited :D It is amazing how clear the letters are and how easy it is to read the print.

I haven't tried a Kindle or Nook yet. Bonnie showed me hers on the Victory (her Kindle.....) and it looked cool and was pretty.

I think I've got printer's ink in my veins or something, though. I was editor of my high school paper and yearbook and we would go to the printing company and help put it all together and then I worked my entire senior year after school at the local newspaper as a Printer's Devil, melting down the lead slugs for the linotype machines and stuff like that. In Alaska, I worked for two years as a journeyman printer, compositor and reporter for the Fairbanks daily paper. I was even a member of the International Typographer's Union, and then when I went into teaching, I taught Journalism for 12 years and put out the school newspaper. Add 14 years as the general manager for large bookstores and it seems like I've spent most of my life with print-related activities.

But I have to be practical and realize that bookstores may not even exist in five or ten years (of course, I might not exist then, either.) and the e-books are indeed cheaper. But, on the other hand, there's just something about a bookcase full of old books and the feel of a hardback in your hand.

I'm so confused! :eek::D:eek:

This was exactly my conundrum

I love books, love the way they feel in my hand, the smell, the beautiful covers, etc. I have hundreds of books here at the house and am still compelled to purchase more and more. Not only with space being a premium at my home, but also the availability to have 3500 books on a very light-weight e-reader; it finally pushed me over the edge.

I purchased and downloaded the newest James Patterson book yesterday in less than 60 seconds. The price was not less than what I would have paid at Sams Club, actually about the same  I guess the savings will come into play if I order free books or older editions.

Ok I just found a house I'm in love with in Galveston. Now I just need to win the lottery so I can buy it and move. Wish me Luck! ;)

No need for our hotel rooms then?

Sara better win that lottery soon then :p

As Allen said I have a Kindle and I love it. I have downloaded a lot more free books then ones that require payment. I can take chances on authors I don't know with the free books and have on a few occasions bought additional books after reading a free one.

My sister has my Amazon account details and can download the books to her iPod Touch so it's like sharing a print book except easier.

I buy purses now based on whether my Kindle will fit into it so that when I'm stuck somewhere I always have something to read. No more buying 'rags' or reading out of date magazines when waiting for a doctor's appointment.

Got to see my soldier niece today at her baby shower. So nice to see her and DH Richie. She got lots of great gifts and a dozen of outfits from her auntie. :p

Luckily everything will fit in her car for the ride back to Ft. Bragg NC. The car seat I bought will have to wait for her New Jersey shower next month.

Morning everyone!

Got a crab fest to go to this evening. Told the host that I would bring a dessert and been wracking my brain all week trying to figure out what to bring. Decided to go to BJ's Wholesale Club and buy some ready made mini eclairs and mini cream puffs. Plate them up nice and I won't give it another thought :p

Hey everyone!

Back from a fun weekend in Galveston for my cousin's bachelorette party. Heading down again in a few weeks for a family girl's weekend, and then a weekend in October for my brothers' birthday. I love living so close to Galveston! :)

My cousin had a Kindle she was reading outside in the sub yesterday. You could see the screen perfectly, no glare at all. I was already thinking about getting one, now I'm really tempted...

About to head out to go pick up Ryan from FIL. I'm ready to be done with all the driving!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday everyone! :)
