092306 Posted July 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2011 OK so we got home yesterday from our Glory cruise. It was our son's first cruise. My question is will our son, who is 11 months old, get a past guest number before our cruise in Sept on the Miracle? Will he even get one because he is an infant? Rare Essiesmom Posted July 9, 2011 #3 Share Posted July 9, 2011 He might not have one in the system quite yet, if you just got home yesterday. Keep checking your cruise history, and when this cruise appears on it..in 4-10 days or so, then call for his number. EM
milton333 Posted July 9, 2011 #4 Share Posted July 9, 2011 As indicated above, yes, kids can get past guest numbers. You might also ask about baby's "level", on Royal Caribbean, kids share the same past guest level as their parents, as long as they are minors living in your home (even if they don't always travel with you). E.g., if mom and dad are platinum, so is son, even if he only has one cruise under his belt. Not sure about how this works with Carnival.
Rare Essiesmom Posted July 9, 2011 #5 Share Posted July 9, 2011 He will have his own 'level' and accrue points toward platinum just as you do. Of course, since you will reach platinum before him, he will be able to board VIP with you...EM
lucigo Posted July 10, 2011 #6 Share Posted July 10, 2011 My son was platinum at age 6. When we cruise with grandma I will put him in her cabin on paper so that they will receive platinum perks also. Honestly there isn't much of a perk for a 6-yo, he didn't care that his undies were cleaned and pressed, or for the picture frame or for the poker chip. The stationary was fun to draw on. The VIP check-in is the main benefit, especially since he has autism and doesn't care for lines!! I have put in my two cents to Carnival that they should do something special for their platinum kids...how about a chocolate ship, or a fun little stuffed animal? I've even shown them the little whale my daughter designed and said hey, make them something special like a platinum whale. But obviously I'm not reaching the right ears or their littlest platinum guests aren't that important.

So if my 6-yo is in a cabin with my friends (on paper) then my friends board VIP also even though they aren't platinum yet.

IIRC the equalivalent of $5. Also the Platinum gift is either a pad & pen or a soft-sided cooler. The cooler can be used as a lunch box. DD17 prefers arcade tokens. It's the only time she plays arcade games.

Do you have a choice between the pad & paper or the cooler? We weren't given a choice last time. We also weren't given a choice on the casino chip, maybe next time I will ask at the desk to trade it for the arcade tokens!
Julienatul Posted July 11, 2011 #10 Share Posted July 11, 2011 Our DD is platinum too at age 5. We got the soft sided coolers, no choice just left in the cabin. Also we booked her in our friends cabin so they could enjoy platinum perks too.
