Beaches

We will be making a stop in this port and want to visit a nice beach with white sands, blue water, clean bathrooms and can get a few drinks. What we would like to avoid are large crowds.

Megans Bay was a thought until we realized that is where everyone goes. We have also researched Sapphire and Emerald, but decided to go to the experts for advice.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!

This is our first cruise!! :)

kimber: Crowds in July are not like crowds in January. Magens is the longest beach on St Thomas. People tend to congregate by the restaurant, so if you walk down the beach to the left, you will likely find a nice spot. I think all three of your choices would suit. Lindbergh is the closest to Crown Bay, Sapphire the farthest...

Sapphire does not usually have clean bathrooms.

If you buy a ticket to Coral World at Coki, you can use their bathrooms/showers and rent a locker to store your things. Coral World is on Coki Beach.

Emerald Beach isn't known for good snorkeling.

We're going to Sapphire on the 16th so I will let you know. We've been to Emerald twice and loved it. Found lots of sea glass after a storm. It has a nice beach, ok bathrooms, no snorkeling, fun beach bar and restaurant (ask for Maxine), good food. We decided to go to Sapphire this year because the people we are traveling with want to snorkel. I am going prepared with travel lysol, tissues and hand sanitizer for the bathrooms!!
