Labadee - Jet skis or Hobie cats?

Does anyone know if you can rent jet skis or hobie cats in Labadee without being on a guided tour?

They have waverunners....don't know the brand name, and you can't rent them to go on your own. It's a "follow the leader" sort of "tour"....faster folks in front, slowpokes in back...so the faster people end up "hurrying up, and waiting" alot!

Hobie cats are a small sailboat. Do you remember if they had any at Labadee?

I am almost certain there are no hobiecats on Labadee. If there were, I didn't see any.

Would it be better to do waverunners on Labadd or in Cozumel?

In Labadee the waverunners are a guided tour where the group goes out for about an hour. On Cozumel you rent by the half hour and can pretty much go where you want. Both are fun, it depends on what you want to do.

Have you done both? Is it safe to go off on your own in Cozumel?
