More FOS questions from a newbie...

Recommended Posts

Sailing in Sept. We will be in a group of 11, most of us new to cruising. Just a few questions...

When we board, on what deck do we board onto? Just curious.

I see a lot of people on this board say they go to the MDR to find their tables. How do I find out where we sit? We have late seating.

The casino. Can you use money or do you use your sea pass card?

Same question about the arcade. Money or sea pass card?

Thanks so much!!

When we board, on what deck do we board onto? Just curious. I've never been on FOS, just her sister ship, but very often it is Deck 5 into the promenade.

I see a lot of people on this board say they go to the MDR to find their tables. How do I find out where we sit? We have late seating. The table number will be on your sea pass card. I LOVE late seating. I think you made a good choice there. We do go check out our table, but have never once changed it.

The casino. Can you use money or do you use your sea pass card? I only play table games where you can use either. There is a fee to take money out on your sea pass card (3%) so if you have the cash that would be better.

Same question about the arcade. Money or sea pass card? Don't know sorry. I think I've only been in the arcade on a different ship.

Thanks so much!!

Have fun!

Never took notice of the deck you board on...there are folks to direct you where you need to go.....

Unless you have your heart set on some specific area of the dining room, you can skip this step...your table number will be on your seapass...as long as you're all seated together, location won't matter much! It's the folks who want a certain table size and want to make sure that's what they were given who should check....you're going to be at a huge table to fit your group!

We always use cash for gambling....there's a fee for drawing money off your seapass. Can't help with the arcade...never used it!

correct....board Deck 4...

Make sure you load 'arcade credits' on your SeaPass card. That is done in the arcade on that machine that was mentioned.

We checked on our table when we boarded. There is staff outside the dining room and you just tell them you are there to find your table. They'll ask you what table (on your card) and they'll give you an idea of where to look. (Ours was to the left on a balcony.)

I think location matters. On Oasis we were stuck in the back in a corner where we had to squeeze past many other tables to get there. Before we went on Allure I emailed them and requested a table for 5 by the window. And I got exactly that! We enjoyed that table much better :D

Have a great cruise. Don't forget to try those little crouissant sandwhiches at Cafe Promenade, and bring long pants for ice skating (if you decide to do that). Love this ship!

I agree. Those sandwiches are very good with a lot of different kinds to choose from.:D

Just got home Sunday night from Freedom of the Seas cruise. I have absolutely no idea what deck you board onto, although I think it is Deck 4..doesn't really matter. We board early and go directly to the WJ (deck 11) and eat (cruise tradition). Cabins aren't ready until 1 p.m. The dining room table location and name of the dining room will be on your SeaPass card. We had the absolute best waiter and assistant waiter...Anthony and Leon. Check out your Compass each day to find out the times available for the Rock Climbing Wall and the FlowRider. Flowrider is easier on Boogie Boad so try those times first. There are lines, but it moves quickly. Females should wear a t-shirt since the water is pretty strong and will make for an embarrassing scene w/o the t-shirt. The ice show and Quest are not to be missed. Quest is adult only and starts at 11:15 pm. Ice show tickets are free and you get them in front of Sorrentos. They have 2 different days available and 2 different times on each day so there are plenty of choices to accomodate the different dinner times. Line moves incredibly fast and you can grab a quick cup of coffee on your way there, at the Promenade Cafe (and a pastry). You can use your SeaPass card in the casino at the slot machines or you can use cash. It gives you a "credit" on the machine and if you decide to stop playing or switch machines, when you hit "cash out" it will print a voucher that you can cash in at the Cashier or you can use it like cash in the next machine. Your Seapass card can be used in the arcade. We had a great time and still had things we didn't get to do because we simply ran out of time. YIKES...I guess we will have to go back :D. Enjoy.
